2. Itinerary Overview:

Day 1: Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park — "The Soul of Wuling"

Tianmen Mountain is situated in the southern suburbs of Zhangjiajie City, just 8 kilometers from the city center. It derives its name from the world-renowned natural wonder, Tianmen Cave. With a main peak reaching an elevation of 1,518.6 meters, it is hailed as the "Premier Divine Mountain of Western Hunan" and the "Soul of Wuling."

Core Attractions:

Tianmen Cave: The highest-altitude natural karst cave in the world, located in the central section of Tianmen Mountain; it serves as the park's iconic landmark. To reach the cave entrance from the mountain base, visitors must ascend the "Heavenly Stairway"—a flight of 999 steps.

Tianmen Mountain Cableway: One of the longest passenger cableways in the world, spanning a total length of 7,455 meters and connecting the city center directly to the mountain summit. Offering a dramatic transition in scenery—from urban landscape to dense forest—the ride takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the mountain's highest vantage point.

Glass Skywalk: Constructed along the sheer face of a cliff, this transparent glass walkway stretches 60 meters in length. With a dizzying drop into the abyss lying directly beneath one's feet, it offers a thrilling yet magnificent experience and remains one of the park's most popular attractions.

Tongtian Avenue (Avenue to Heaven): A winding mountain road spanning approximately 11 kilometers, leading from the mountain base up to the entrance of Tianmen Cave. It is renowned for its 99 hairpin turns—tightly packed curves that stack upon one another in a spectacular ascent.

Summit "Sky Garden": The mountain summit features a relatively flat terrain with a forest coverage rate exceeding 90%. Two scenic loop trails (Eastern and Western) have been established here, connecting various attractions such as the Dove Tree Garden and Yuhu Peak.

Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park — The Inspiration for Avatar

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park holds the distinction of being China's first national forest park and constitutes the core area of the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area. It gained worldwide fame as the filming location and inspiration for the "floating mountains" featured in the movie *Avatar*, and is celebrated as a "miniature fairyland" and an "expanded bonsai."

Yuanjiajie: Home to the "Qiankun Column"—the real-world prototype for the "Hallelujah Mountains" (the floating mountains) depicted in the movie *Avatar*. Key attractions in this area include the "Enchanting Terrace" (Mihuntai) and the "First Bridge Under Heaven," both of which offer panoramic, bird's-eye views of the surrounding forest of peaks. Tianzi Mountain: The "King of Peak Forests." Home to attractions such as the Imperial Brush Peak, the Fairy Presenting Flowers, and He Long Park, it offers superb panoramic views and is an ideal spot for observing seas of clouds and sunsets.

Golden Whip Stream: Hailed as the "World's Most Beautiful Canyon," it spans a total length of 7.5 kilometers. The highlight of the hike (from "Water-Surrounded Four Gates" to "Leaping Fish Pool") winds through the secluded valleys amidst the peak forests, where you may occasionally encounter wild macaques.

Ten-Mile Gallery: A valley stretching 5 kilometers, flanked on both sides by towering, exotic peaks. A ride on the scenic mini-train allows you to admire unique rock formations resembling specific shapes, such as the "Old Man Gathering Herbs" and the "Three Sisters Peaks."

Day 3: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon — A Heart-Pounding Challenge

The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a comprehensive blend of majestic peaks, secluded valleys, unique rock formations, mysterious caves, mountain streams, and lakes; it is renowned as the "Museum of Zhangjiajie Geology." The glass bridge located within the scenic area is the longest and highest glass bridge in the world, spanning 430 meters and suspended approximately 300 meters above the canyon floor—a true world-class engineering marvel.

We will follow Route B (Full Scenic Tour) — our recommended choice: Grand Canyon + Glass Bridge.

From the Sky to the Valley—Experience It All in One Go: Be among the first to experience the world-class "Cloud Sky Walk" glass bridge, then stroll deep into the hidden depths of the canyon floor. This single journey offers the equivalent of two standard tours, providing exceptional value for money.

Effortless Throughout—A Relaxed Tour: The route descends from the mountain summit to the valley floor; since the majority of the path is downhill, you avoid the strenuous effort of climbing uphill, allowing you to admire the scenery and take photos with greater ease and leisure.

A Complete Experience—Maximize Your Adventure: In addition to the centerpiece—the glass bridge—this route allows you to experience natural landscapes, karst caves, lakes, and boat rides, offering a truly comprehensive and enriching tour experience.
