Day 1: Overture to the Grasslands—The Hulunbuir Grassland, the Morigele River, and the Ergun Wetland

Hulunbuir Grassland

One of the world's three most famous grasslands and the best-preserved grassland in China, it is known as the "Kingdom of Pasture." Just outside Hulunbuir city, the Hulunbuir Grassland unfolds before your eyes. Horseback riding across the grassland is available at an optional fee.

Morigele River

A visual spectacle of nine bends and eighteen turns: the river, like a winding silver ribbon, traces countless beautiful curves across the grassland. Locals describe it as "ninety-nine large bends, nine hundred and ninety-nine small bends, the river flows in all directions."

A picturesque scene of grassland life: lush pastures, herds of cattle and sheep, scattered yurts, and round hay bales combine to create the unparalleled beauty of the Hulunbuir Grassland.

Three viewing platforms:

①Haolinwenduri Station: The highest point, offering a wide view and significant elevation change, overlooking the narrow, winding river.

②Ajier Station: The second highest point, where the Morigele River flows smoothly, showcasing the picturesque grassland landscape of herds of cattle and sheep.

③Morgen Station: The third highest point, with numerous haystacks nearby and closest to the visitor center.

Ergun Wetland

 Asia's largest wetland, hailed as "Asia's No. 1 Wetland," is one of China's most beautiful river valley wetlands. The clear Genhe River flows quietly, its meandering waters embracing the meadows. A 2-3 hour stay is recommended; the wetland at sunset offers a unique charm. The scenery varies with the seasons. Summer: Lush greenery, swaying flowers and grasses, and dense low shrubs along the riverbank. Autumn: A kaleidoscope of colors; from the hillside, a vast expanse of red, yellow, blue, and green stretches as far as the eye can see, a breathtaking sight. Winter: A silver-white world, offering spectacular views of wetland rime ice. From the highest vantage point, one can overlook the winding Genhe River and the city of Ergun, with houses featuring blue and pink roofs scattered throughout. Wild chipmunks often peek out from the wooden boardwalk, interacting with visitors, earning them the nickname "little elves of the forest."

Day 2: Reindeer Fairy Tale and Border Sunset

Aoluguya

The settlement of the last reindeer-herding tribe in China—the Evenki hunters—who migrated here from the shores of Lake Baikal more than 300 years ago. Genhe City has a historical low temperature of -58℃, earning it the title of "China's Cold Pole."

①Reindeer Encounters: All of China's remaining reindeer population lives here. Visitors can hand-feed these "forest spirits" and experience reindeer sledding in winter.

②International Cultural Exchange: Since 2017, Finnish reindeer have been introduced, and hybrid offspring have been successfully bred. A Sami merchant from Finland once exclaimed, "It looks so much like my family's deer!"

③Reindeer Beauty Contest:An annual reindeer beauty contest is held during the winter season, showcasing the best reindeer with their robust physiques, beautiful antlers, and smooth fur, to select the "King of Reindeer."

④Cultural Experience:Visit the Reindeer Culture Museum to learn about the long history of the Evenki people who herd reindeer; experience drinking reindeer milk and eating reindeer milk bread, and even live like an Evenki for a day.

⑤Ethnic Song and Dance Performances:Traditional Evenki song and dance performances are frequently held within the scenic area, showcasing the unique charm of their ethnic culture.

China-Russia Border Highway

Known as the "Most Beautiful Grassland Sky Road" in the Hulunbuir Grassland.

①China-Russia Border Scenic Highway:The highway hugs the Ergun River, with China on the right bank and Russia on the left, with Russian villages appearing and disappearing on the opposite bank.

②Pristine Natural Scenery:Sparsely populated with pristine scenery, the area from the fifth to the eighth checkpoint is dominated by grasslands, villages, wetlands, forests, and rivers, with every scene inviting you to stop and take photos.
