Day 1: November 22, 2024 Welcome to Moroni

Pick up from the airport at 13:50. 

City tour exploring Moroni and Iconi. 

Special cultural tour to discover the Gereza fortress of the 18 th century in Itsandra and proceed to the Village and see famous Marabou house with its cultural legends and continue to Iconi to see Forteleza; an old Portuguese spice port in Iconi. Visit the adjacent cliffs of the time of slavery where ladies commit suicide by jumping from the cliffs into the sea and died instead of going to slavery Visit the ruins of sultan palace built in the 18 th century and proceed to the famous Lake Marabou. Return to Hotel for the evening. Overnight at Golden Tulip.

Day 2: November 23, 2024 Moroni to - Mohéli (Domestic flight)

Morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Mohéli. On arrival you will be met by a local guide and transferred to Hotel Les Abou, a small and intimate resort with its own beach. There are a number of other optional excursions available including trips to some of the smaller islands nearby, and evening visits to watch turtles lay their eggs in the sand. (BLD). 

Days 3: November 24th, 2024 Mohéli at leisure

Two full days at leisure to enjoy this beautiful island. We have not pre-arranged any sightseeing or activities as Mohéli is very easy to explore independently or optional excursions can be arranged directly with the lodge. Relax and enjoy the different pace of life and meet the friendly local people. If you are feeling a little more energetic, you can arrange a guided hike across the island on tracks of virgin rainforest. Alternatively, you can cycle around the island, on virtually empty roads. Then of course there are the beaches. Two of the most beautiful are Sambadjou and Nioumachoua. You can also snorkel to discover the rich marine life or even go whale and dolphin watching. Finally, at certain times of the year you may be lucky enough to see giant turtles lay their eggs at night on Itsamia beaches.

Day 4: November 25th, 2024  Mohéli – Moroni (Domestic flight) – Moroni City tour

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to the local airport for your flight back to Moroni. On arrival, take a short city tour and visit the Medina with its famous narrow streets and colorful material shops. Then, transfer to the hotel. Tonight, you will be staying in a nice hotel located just further north of the capital and there will be leisure time to relax and unwind on the white-sand beach. Overnight at Golden Tulip 

Beautiful North Tour

Drive to traditional villages with its culture and traditions, discover the tradition of Msindanou; as beauty mask. Enjoy the ladies making flowers and Msindanou as a beauty masque. The saluwa is a traditional dress for newly married women. Drive to mangroves and black beach.

We will take part in a day-long tour of the northern part of the island - this region is called the Grand Comore by the local population. We will visit the local towns of Mnoungou and Mbeni, where we will be able to see how under pretty primitive conditions, a distillate of flowers Ylang Ylang, which as a natural oil is an important component in the production of the most expensive perfumes in the world. We will see the ruins of the Sultan's Palace of the Victor and the famous Ngoulou construction from the end of the 19th century - a gem of steel architecture. Along the way we meet both flowering frangipani plants and magnificent baobabs.


After lunch, we will set off to Dragon's Rock, which is a large and very interesting rock formation, resembling the tail of a dragon or dinosaur. According to the legend and beliefs of the local population, rock is considered the final resting place of a prehistoric dragon who swam across the ocean and died as soon as he reached the shore of the sacred island of Comoros. In close proximity there is the Le Lac Sale lake and the Prophet's Hole, filled with water from the remains of volcanic activity. We will visit the oldest baobab on the island, which in the time of the Sultanate served as a prison in which criminals were kept without access to water and food. The road we will follow leads along a beautiful, white-sand beach, among almost outgrowing pretty and magnificent baobabs. There are frequent fresh lava pools with no vegetation. Nearby there are numerous mosques, often around palm trees or baobabs, on the stone benches, men sit. Women are dressed in black long costumes and white scarves on their heads. At the end of the day, we will reach the cemetery, where the remains of the first survivors from 1495 are buried. Mangroves, Prophet's Hole, Salt Lake, Mosque Tour Miraculous, grid tray...... Walk offering us lush vegetation with on the hillside huge palm groves, banana plantations, coconut groves  On the other side the emerald blue of the Indian Ocean with its white sandy beaches, its coral belt. Comorian Gastronomic Picnic with Mineral Drinks Return back to the hotel later this afternoon.

Day 5: November 26th, 2024 Moroni , Onward flight 

Transfer to the Airport for departing flight. Flight departing at 16:30. **some day 1 activities potentially moved to this day prior to transfer to the airport.
