3-Day heritage tour to Al Ula, Saudi Arabia
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival at Alula (January 24)
After arriving in AlUla, our staff will meet you and arrange your transport to the hotel. After checking in, there is no hectic schedule for the day. You can take rest, or have a walk around the nearby area.
Wrap up the first day of your trip with a delicious and authentic Arabian dinner at Tama Habitas.
Day 2: Alula Sightseeing (January 25)
After having breakfast, we will start the journey by visiting Madain Saleh, also known as Al-Hijr. It stands as a testament to the ancient Nabatean civilization in northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring Nabatean tombs and archaeological wonders.
Explore various cultural heritage sites.
- Qasr Al-Farid: It is an architectural gem located in Madain Saleh, Saudi Arabia. Carved from a single massive rock, this Nabatean tomb is a beautiful example of ancient craftsmanship.
Qasr Al-Bint: The next destination will be Qasr Al-Bint, which is a synonym for 'Castle of the Daughter'. This is a well-preserved Nabataean temple dedicated to the goddess Dushara. Qasr al-Bint portrays elegant columns and intricate carvings.
Khuraimat: Khuraimat is a beautiful natural attraction in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The place is known for its vast desert landscapes and distinctive red sand dunes. The rolling dunes make it a heaven for photographers.
Al-Diwan: The next destination will be Al-Diwan. It is a square chamber with three stone benches that serve as a triclinium for sacred celebrations.
Have lunch at Somewhere Restaurant.
- In the afternoon, visit the old town of Alula. It is one of the main attractions of the Al Ula desert. Known as the 'ancient ghost town', it consists of many mudbrick houses. You can get back through time while strolling through this village. Here are a few workshops where you can learn about the culture and mudbrick art as well.
- If time permits, enjoy the heavenly view of the Al Ula oasis. Many old civilizations have built their kingdoms here. The lively, green date palm groves turn this spot into a paradise amidst the hot desert.
Maraya Social will be our destination for having dinner.
Day 3: Hot Air Baloon Ride & Alula Sightseeing (January 26)
Today, after having breakfast, we'll head towards exploring new tourist spots and engaging in a thrilling experience.
- Hot Air Baloon Ride: Satisfy your wanderlust with a hot air balloon trip in the deserts of Al Ula. It is one of the must-try adventurous activities on the Alula trip. The balloon will take you up to 1200 m up in the sky. Enjoy stunning views of the city from the sky, and make unforgettable memories with your loved ones.
After having lunch at Okoto, we'll explore other cultural heritage sites in the afternoon.
- Dadan Archaeological Park: Dadan Archaeological Park in Saudi Arabia reveals ancient history amid stunning desert landscapes. This UNESCO World Heritage Site preserves the remains of the flourishing Dadanite civilization and offers visitors a glimpse of a trade center that flourished more than 2,500 years ago. Discover the well-preserved tombs, inscriptions, and artifacts.
- Jabal Ikmah: Jabal Ikmah, settled within the Saudi Arabian desert, is a sacred location and open-air library of old engravings carved into its sandstone rocks. Named the 'Library of the Forsake', it holds the engraves of various civilizations. It provides a captivating insight into the social and cultural advancement of this region over the years.
- Elephant Rock: The last destination today will be Elephant Rock. It is a natural sandstone formation like an elephant with a trunk and legs. Shaped by wind and erosion, it is an impressive testament to the geological wonders of the region. This rock formation attracts visitors, offering a surreal and awe-inspiring experience.
Day 4: Departure from Alula (January 27)
This is the last day of the trip. After having breakfast, we'll check out from the hotel.
The passengers will depart as scheduled before.
