Excursion to the Star City ( Cosmonaut Training Center )

On these delightful and informative excursions you will learn how the city was built, the history of the Cosmonaut training center, and will be able to visit unique objects on its territory, where actual pre-mission training takes place.

The Soviet's Great Cosmonaut city was built in 1965 as a military settlement, Zelenyi, and later got the name of the Star City. Before cosmonauts had lived in the village Chkalovskyi, which in the open press was called Zelenyi.

In Star City there is a center for the Russian cosmonaut training. Beginning from 1960 all the cosmonauts going on Russian air&space missions or to the international space station ISS were trained here.

Choose from 3 different options! Note that it's a closed object and all tours to Star City require special arrangements for foreign nationals!We are happy to answer all of your questions!

1st Standard Program Includes: 

- All the permissions and any other kinds of documents; 

- Sightseeing excursions in the Star City; 

- visit to the cosmonaut training center;

- visit to the MIR space station;

- visit to the hydrolaboratory;

2nd Standard Program Includes (please ask us for details):

- All the permissions and any other kinds of documents; 

- Sightseeing excursions in the Star City; 

- Sightseeing of 4 main museum areas -"History of the manned cosmonautics - Vostok, Voskhod, Soyuz", "Office room of Yuri Gagarin", "Long-term orbital stations and international cooperation in space", "Memorial room for Yuri Gagarin".

Optional:

- transportation from Moscow (you will be given pickup/meeting point instructions upon booking.)

Individual Program Includes:

- All the permissions and any other kinds of documents; 

- Sightseeing excursions in the Star City;

- excursions to the cosmonaut training museum (subject to change);

- lesson on Space Station MIR;

- lesson on the docking simulator Soyuz TMA; 

- lesson on airplane/helicopter simulator( it is used to train pilots for 737-500, ATR-42-300 and Mi-8 MTB and Mi-8T).
