Itinerary
Day 1 - Baghdad
Arrive at Baghdad International Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2 - Baghdad - Karbala
Make your journey to the Holy City of Karbala. See the revered Al-Abbas Mosque before heading to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, one of the oldest and most important Muslim shrines in the world. Visit the final resting place of Husayn Ibn Ali (the third Shia Imam), a holy site that is highly venerated by Muslims all around the world. Admire the exquisite architectural design and take in the sight of the large complex's golden domes and minarets, which are complemented by various colorful ornaments. Before going to your lodging for the night, you will also visit the famous Tal Al Zainabeiah site and learn more about the history of Islam.
Day 3 - Karbala - Babylon - Najaf
Continue your adventure by going to Najaf, another holy city in Southern Iraq. Make a little detour to Babylon on the way to Najaf to visit the ancient city of Babylon, which was once the biggest and most influential city in the world. With the help of your local guide, tour the historic Babylonian highlights, including the Tower of Babel and the Hanging Gardens. You will then proceed to the enormous Saddam Hussein Palace, which is set on a hill and offers a panoramic view of Babylon. Upon arrival in Najaf, continue to the expansive Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery, one of the biggest cemeteries in the world. The cemetery used to be revered as a piece of heaven and was frequented by many devoted people. Among the more than 5 million graves, you can also find the final resting places of famous people and ancient prophets. You will also get the chance to see the majestic Imam Ali Mosque before wandering through the lively souks and experience the rich Iraqi cultural heritage.
Day 4 - Najaf - Baghdad
Head back to Baghdad to spend the day discovering the historic yet modern city! Admire the magnificent relics of the Persian, Abbasid, and Mesopotamian civilizations in the magnificent Archaeological Museum of Iraq. Continue to the Al-Mustansariya School, which was once the main center for Islamic learning and is now recognized as one of Baghdad's most stunning examples of modern architecture. Then, explore the famous Copper Market, Souk al-Safareen, as well as stroll along Al-Mutanabi Street, Baghdad's historical center for bookselling, which is filled with bookstores and outdoor book kiosks.You may also check out the striking Save the Iraqi Culture Monument, stop by the enormous Liberation Square, the city's main square which commemorates the establishment of the Republic of Iraq, and see the striking Al-Shaheed Monument (Martyr's Monument), an impressive edifice honoring the Iraqi troops who lost their lives in the Iran-Iraq war.

When visiting the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf, there are strict rules of faith. Men need a pair of trousers and t-shirt to wear and women will need long sleeves and a scarf. Please also be advised that alcohol is prohibited in these cities.
A moderate amount of walking is involved; Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
