Itinerary
Day 1 - Karbala
Meet and greet your local guide at the designated pick up location. You will then make your way to the Holy City of Karbala. See the revered Al-Abbas Mosque before heading to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, one of the oldest and most important Muslim shrines in the world. Visit the final resting place of Husayn Ibn Ali (the third Shia Imam), a holy site that is highly revered by Muslims all around the world. Admire the magnificent architectural design of the vast complex as you take in the sight of its golden domes and minarets, which are complemented by many vibrant ornaments. You will also stop by the notable Tal Al Zainabeiah site and learn more about the history of Islam before heading to your accommodation for the night.
Day 2 - Kufa - Najaf
Continue your adventure by going to Najaf, another holy city in Southern Iraq. Make a little detour to Al Kilf on the way to Najaf to see the tomb of the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel, another important pilgrimage site. Check out the Hebrew and Arabic inscriptions on the tomb’s wall, serving as a reminder of the shared Abrahamic roots of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religions. You will also stop by the city of Kufa to see the historic Al Sahlah Great Mosque, one of the most important mosques in the city which holds a special place in the hearts of Shia Muslims. Before returning to your accommodation, you will get the chance to experience the rich and vibrant Iraqi culture as you wander through Najaf's souks.
Day 3 - Kufa - Najaf - Karbala
Travel to the medieval city of Kufa to see the impressive Great Mosque of Kufa, where people believe that Prophet Muhammad stopped before entering the presence of God. Impressive architectural feats are accomplished on both the interior and exterior of the mosque. Check out the mosque’s priceless decorations and embellishments as well as its interior featuring marbles and tiles that are identical to those in Mecca. Continue on to the vast Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery, one of the largest cemeteries in the world. The cemetery once was thought of as a part of paradise and attracted a large number of faithful visitors. You can even find the resting places of notable people and ancient prophets among the more than 5 million graves. Afterwards, head back to Karbala, where the journey ends, for your onward destination.

When visiting the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf, there are strict rules of faith. Men need a pair of trousers and t-shirt to wear and women will need long sleeves and a scarf. Please also be advised that alcohol is prohibited in these cities.
A moderate amount of walking is involved; Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Depending on the political situation, the length of the tour and the order of visited places may change. In a situation of a serious threat to travelers’ safety, the tour may be canceled.
