Lake Sirinumu about 2 hours from Port Moresby, a side trip off the main Sogeri Road along a sealed access road comes to this artificial lake created by damming the Laloki River in the 1960's. Anglers fish at the lake and there is good birding around the perimeter. Local people cross the lake in canoes and small boats to get to villages on the other side. Picnic sites dot the lush green landscape, with emerald green waterways a perfect picnic and day out of the City of Port Moresby.
