On this complete tour of Nosy Be you’ll get to discover the market and the center of Hell-Ville, have a shower under the waterfall, dive into the ancient history of the first village of Nosy Be: Marodoka, visit Ylang Ylang flower plantations, the sacred tree, Andilana Beach and top off your tour with the best view in the island from the top of Mont Passot. You’ll be accompanied by a local guide who’ll let you in on all the best secrets of the island. This day excursion is perfect for those who want something else than just beaches and want to explore the rich culture and history of Nosy Be.

Our tour will start with the city center of Hell Ville and explore the central market. This is a welcome change from the daily beach and island excursions and perfect to discover the local culture in a setting where you see few foreigners.

Also on the list is Marodoka, which means "the old village" in Swahili and was the first village of the island dating from the year 800  and there are still several remains such as the ruins of large stone houses, the mosque and a shipyard. Because of its strategic position, Marodoka was an important trading post which maintained strong relations with the neighboring islands of Nosy Be and several African cities with whom products like gold and spices were exchanged.

We’ll also have a stop at the sacred tree of Mahatsinjo, which is over a thousand year old and called Banian by the locals. Thanks to the lianas covering the tree a huge area is covered by it, making it almost look like a mini forest. The Androandroatra waterfall is the only waterfall in Nosy Be and is also considered as a sacred place. This is our last stop before going to Mont Passot and catching the sunset over the Mozambique Channel.
