Itinerary
Day 1 - Antananarivo - Maroantsetra
Arrive in Antananarivo. Meet and greet your guide at the designated location, taking you to the airport for a flight to Maroantsetra, a small seaside village situated in a picturesque riverine environment at the foot of Antongil Bay.
Day 2 - Maroantsetra - Ambanizana - Ambodiforaha
Spend the day filled with wonderful adventures and stunning scenery! Board on a boat to Ambanizana to start your trek into the biggest rainforest of Madagascar. Take in the tranquility of the forest, enjoy a river crossing experience, and even get to see the rare, elusive wildlife creatures en route to Ambodiforaha, where you will stay for the night.
Day 3 - Masoala National Park
Begin the day with a trip to Masoala National Park’s primary rainforest in search of Red-Ruffed Lemurs, Dwarf Chameleons, Helmet Vangas, and other wildlife endemic to the forest. You will be in awe of the forest's enormous hardwood trees and magnificent tree ferns. Stop by a local village and pass by several plantations of Vanilla, Cloves, Peppers, Coffee along the way. A guided night stroll after dinner can be arranged to see some of the elusive nocturnal animals, including Dwarf and Mouse lemurs, Leaf-tailed geckos, and even the elusive Aye-Aye.
Day 4 - Masoala National Park
Set off on a guided morning walk in the primary forest to look for other birds, animals, and other distinct wildlife creatures. As one of Madagascar's top destinations for hiking and trekking, the Masoala Peninsula also provides fantastic prospects for snorkeling and sea kayaking. You will also get a chance to enjoy some activities at the Tampolo Marine Park, such as snorkeling and swimming.
Day 5 - Nosy Mangabe
Visit Nosy Mangabe National Park, which is a part of the larger Masoala National Park complex and is located in Antogil Bay. Explore the tropical rainforest on this well-known island reserve that serves as a haven for several lemur species to see the Black and White Ruffed Lemur, White Faced Brown Lemur, Aye-Aye, Snakes, Tree-boas, Ground Boas, and Leaf-tailed Geckos. You will also get to see some of the historical landmarks on the island, including the Betsimisaraka Tombs and an old lighthouse.
