Itinerary


Day 1 - Antananarivo 

Arrive in Antananarivo. Meet and greet your guide at the designated pick up location, taking you to the hotel for check in. Take time to freshen up before heading out to discover the vibrant city of Antananarivo at your own leisure. You can check out the bustling marketplaces and explore the charming old town. 


Day 2 - Antananarivo - Maroantsetra

Start the day with a trip to Madagascar’s Northeastern Coast. After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport and take a flight to Maroantsetra, a small seaside village situated in a picturesque riverine environment at the foot of Antongil Bay. Take in the scent of vanilla and cloves as it fills the air while you spot some rice fields and coconut palm plantations around the area. 


Day 3 - Maroantsetra - Masoala

Board on a boat to Masoala after breakfast. From Maroantsetra, the boat ride to Masoala lasts roughly two hours. The largest terrestrial and marine protected area in Madagascar, the Masoala Peninsula is home to a 230,000 ha national park with one of the best rainforests in the nation. Upon arrival, take a 3-hour walk through the forest to see lemurs, orchids, birds, reptiles as well as rare and unique species such as the green lizard, crimson owl, tomato frog, and serpent eagle. You may even unwind by swimming in the river, which is sure to be pleasant. End the day with a relaxed barbecue at the eco-friendly lodge.


Day 4 - Masoala

Start the day with a trip to Masoala to experience bird-watching. Then, visit a nearby village that is surrounded by vanilla, clove, and coffee farms after a three-hour bird-watching trip. As one of Madagascar's top destinations for hiking and trekking, the Masoala Peninsula provides fantastic prospects for snorkeling and sea kayaking; all you need is a basic mask to enjoy the vibrant underwater environment. Feel free to unwind or go snorkeling in the Masoala Marine Reserve in the afternoon. You can also observe enormous humpback whales in the Bay of Antongil between July and September.


Day 5 - Masoala - Nosy Mangabe

Board a boat and travel to the island of Nosy Mangabe. A beautiful island and natural reserve, Nosy Mangabe is home to a wide range of species. One of the greatest sites to see aye-ayes in the wild, explore the nature reserve to see its rare plants and animals. You will get the thrilling chance to visit the Betsimisaraka tombs. The majority of the central and northeastern coastal region is populated by the Betsimisaraka tribe, which is Madagascar's second-largest ethnic group. Then, go on a night walk in the nature reserve to look for uncommon nocturnal creatures. If you are lucky, you might spot the world's largest nocturnal monkey, the endangered aye-aye. You will spend the night on the island of Nosy Mangabe.


Day 6 - Nosy Mangabe - Maroantsetra - Antananarivo

Return to Maroantsetra after breakfast. Once you are back in the mainland, you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight back to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, head to the hotel and check in. You will have plenty of time to see the charming capital city, including its lively marketplaces, diverse culture, and bustling streets decorated with unique local crafts. Stroll through the capital's winding, hilly streets while admiring the design, ambiance, and vibrancy of the city. Alternatively, you can ascend to the old rova (palace) and take in the vistas of Antananarivo and the surrounding area. The town is at its best in the evening when the sun is sinking and the hillsides are magnificently illuminated.


Day 7 - Antsirabe - Antananarivo

Depart from Antananarivo for your onward journey, bringing to a conclusion your unforgettable Masoala Peninsula Safari excursion.
