Day 1: Arrival in El Salvador 

Meet and greet with our team at the airport and then we’ll bring you to your hotel. Free afternoon/evening. 

Day 2 and 3: Montecristo National Park

Today we’ll head to Montecristo where we’ll be spending two days in the park and surroundings while camping. Montecristo National Park is a beautiful and diverse natural reserve located in El Salvador. It is a great destination for hiking and camping, as it offers a variety of trails that wind through lush forests, past sparkling waterfalls, and along scenic mountain ridges. The park is home to a diverse range of plant and animal life, including several species of birds and mammals, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and bird watchers. The park also offers several campsites available for overnight camping, which allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park and experience the tranquility and serenity of the wilderness. The park's remote location and rugged terrain make it an ideal destination for those looking for a challenging hike or a peaceful camping experience.

Day 4: Cerro Verde National Park And Izalco Volcano 

Today we’ll go to the most known national park in El Salvador, the Cerro Verde National Park, home to three volcanoes: Santa Ana Volcano, Izalco Volcano and Cerro Verde Volcano. We’ll go to the summit of the Izalco Volcano and afterwards set up camp in the nearby region. 

Cerro Verde National Park is a stunning natural reserve located in El Salvador. It is home to the Izalco volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the country. The volcano has erupted regularly throughout history, and visitors can often see smoke and ash rising from the summit. The park offers several hiking trails that lead to the summit of the volcano, providing visitors with an opportunity to see the volcano up close and experience the raw power of nature. The park also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the Santa Ana volcano and the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. The area around the volcano is also rich in biodiversity, with a variety of plant and animal species found here. Day 5 and 6: El Imposible National Park

After Cerro Verde we have two full days to enjoy the El Imposible National Park, where again we will hike and camp. El Imposible National Park is a unique and breathtaking natural reserve located in El Salvador. It is known for its rugged terrain and steep cliffs, making it a popular spot for rock climbing and rappelling. The park also offers several hiking trails that wind through dense jungle, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the park's diverse plant and animal life. The park is home to a variety of bird species and other wildlife, making it an ideal spot for bird-watching and observing the local fauna.

What makes El Imposible National Park special is that it's a protected area of great ecological importance, it also has a great diversity of plant and animal species, it's a great place for bird watching, it has a beautiful waterfall and many rivers, also the park offers a challenging hike, which is well worth the effort for the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It is a great destination for those looking for an adventure, and the park's remote location and rugged terrain make it an ideal spot for overnight camping.

Day 7: Santa Riga Protected Area and Barra de Santiago

In the morning we’ll drive to the Santa Rita Protected Area, a semi-tropical forest that remains green and lush even during the dry season. Here we will have a walk through the jungle on forest paths and wooden bridges to Poza de los Lagartos. From the observation deck we can see the largest caiman population in El Salvador. It is a beautiful sight to be able to see these imposing animals from so close. Afterwards we’ll explore another hidden gem of El Salvador: Barra de Santiago.

Barra de Santiago is a wild and remote coastal area located in El Salvador. It is known for its rugged beauty, and it offers visitors the opportunity to explore a diverse range of landscapes, from sandy beaches to mangrove swamps. The area is home to a rich biodiversity, including a variety of plant and animal species, and it is a great destination for bird-watching and observing the local fauna. The area is a great spot for camping and other outdoor activities. We will take a boat tour to observe the local wildlife, including dolphins and sea turtles.

Day 8: San Salvador 

Time to say goodbye to the coast! We’ll drive back to San Salvador where you’ll have a free afternoon and evening. 

Day 9: Departure 

Today we’ll bring you to the airport. We can also transport you to the border between El Salvador and Guatemala or Honduras and arrange your border crossing and transport.
