Day 1

 

Arrival in Kyoto

Arrive at Kyoto Station. Your local guide will meet you at the train station and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up before heading out to explore the city.


Visit the Famous Yasaka Shrine

Tour the most famous shrine in the Gion area and see its iconic vermilion gate. One of the most important shrines in Kyoto, Yasaka Shrine is also considered as the Spiritual Heart of Kyoto. Ring the large bells at the main sanctuary to notify the gods of your presence and feel free to offer your prayers for beauty and love. 

 

Explore the Historic Gion District

Take in the nostalgic atmosphere of the Gion district. Walk your way through the bustling Hanamikoji Street packed with well-preserved charming wooden machiya houses. Listen to fascinating stories behind the ancient district as you appreciate the grandeur of traditional Japanese architecture. Well known for its Geisha culture, Gion district is considered as its birth place. If you are lucky enough, you might get a glimpse of a geisha.

 

Day 2

 

Walk into the Iconic Torii Gates Passage in Fushimi Inari Shrine

Rise early in the morning and head to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Make your way through the fascinating tunnel of seemingly endless path of vermilion torii gates. Visit the Magnificent Kiyomizudera Temple

Day 5

Get a taste of traditional sake at the Harada Sake Brewery. One of the oldest and largest sake producers in Takayama, enjoy some traditional sake tasting, learn some traditional sake making techniques, and hear the story behind the origin of sake. You can even treat yourself to some appetizing Hida beef. Then, head to a Japanese temple for a relaxing good night sleep. Day 6

 

Drop by the Hida-Takayama Miyagawa Morning Market

Take a guided morning walk to the Hida-Takayama Miyagawa Morning Market, check out the selection of fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, and other local farm products, shop, and interact with the locals. Afterwards, board the train to Hakone.


Journey to Hakone

Take in the picturesque scenery as you depart Nagiya for a trip to Hakone, a charming mountainous town known for its spectacular views of the iconic Mt. Fuji.

 

Hop On the Scenic Hakone Ropeway
