Itinerary:

Day 1 - Mayotte Island

Pick Up at Airport

Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the Dzaoudzi–Pamandzi International Airport. 

Explore the Dzaoudzi Village

Tour around the Dzaoudzi Village and take time to admire Mayotte’s remnants of the colonial era. Visit the notable Hotel Le Rocher, the former boarding house which is now the Heritage House, the old post office that dates back to 1845, or even the “Palais Eiffel," the Governor’s Palace.

Visit the Guerlain Plantation

Next, see the rows of Ylang-Ylang and an alley of coconut trees at the Guerlain Plantation. Explore the plantation and learn the process on how to make the famous Ylang-Ylang extract of some of the most famous fragrances. You will also stop by the remains of the famous perfumer’s house situated in the middle of the garden.

Meet the Shingo Mamas at the Eco Musee du Sel de Bandrele

Discover the traditional way of making salt at the Eco Musee du Sel de Bandrele. Meet the women behind the traditional Bandrele salt in Mayotte and interact with the Shingo Mamas as they explain each step of their unique salt production.

Observe the Sea Turtles at N’Gouja Beach

Continue to the one of the famous Mayotte beaches, N’Gouja Beach. Here you will get to swim with the sea turtles, relax under the iconic giant baobab tree, and watch the playful lemurs leap from branch to branch.

Day 2 - Grande Comore Island 

Pick Up at Airport

Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport.

Explore the Old Town of Moroni

Walk the coastal road towards the old town of Moroni and discover one of the oldest and most important buildings in Moroni, Grand Mosque du Vendredi. Situated in front of the old harbor and port, take time to appreciate the captivating panoramic view of the brightly-colored boats, squares, and historic buildings around.

Then, visit the National Museum of the Comoros. With 4 different sections, learn more about the country’s history, flora and fauna, culture, and even its volcanic aspects. 

Continue to the bustling local market. A great place to wander around, observe how the locals live, and discover wide array of local fruits and spices as well as locally produced handicrafts. 

After the exploring the local market, admire the beautiful sunset at the beach. You can take a short walk along the beach and take in the majestic beauty of nature.
