Are you traveling through Central-America hopping from country to country and you want a quick taste of El Salvador maximizing your time while you are here? No worries, we at El Salvador Travel and Tours got you covered! Our tours start from the international airport of San Salvador, but we can also help you with a short customized tour where we’ll pick you up at the border and drop you off at the border for overland crossing between El Salvador and Honduras and Guatemala.

Most of Central America is still way less visited than South-America and most tourists head to Costa Rica or Mexico, both excellent destinations. Due to its bad reputation most of Central America and especially El Salvador have long been ignored by tourists. During recent years El Salvador has known a huge drop in crime and the country has been investing heavily in tourism and its infrastructure. El Salvador is seeing a slow but steady rise in tourism nowadays with tourists mostly attracted to its great surf spots along the Pacific Coast, volcanoes with excellent hiking trails, Mayan ruins and charming little towns rich in history.

During your tour to El Salvador you’ll get to visit the capital San Salvador in which you’ll get to know everything about the daily life of the Salvadorans and where you’ll visit its busy markets, squares and avenues while admiring its monuments and historical buildings. You’ll also get a coffee tour combined with the famous Ruta de las Flores, all in all, a short, but satisfying tour! By the end of the tour we’ll bring you to the international airport or we can also help you cross the border to your next destination. If you need help for your border crossing and transport to Honduras or Guatemala, we can assist you.

You can choose to have your tour in El Salvador in Spanish or English. We  use good vehicles adapted to the size of your group and all of our accommodation is in midrange to upper midrange hotels and guesthouses. You can also upgrade your tour to more luxurious hotels. Don’t hesitate to contact our travel agency if you would like to book a customized tour to El Salvador as well and yes, as a true Salvadoran tour company we also accept payments in Bitcoin of course!

Day 2. San Salvador City Tour And El Boqueron Volcano Tour

Welcome to San Salvador, the bustling capital of El Salvador, home to more than one million people! This vibrant city full with countless markets, food stalls, colorful houses, squares, modern malls and historical buildings is our playground for today. Accompanied by the continent's newest reggaeton beats you’ll hear on every street corner we’ll visit the most important points of interest in the city today. We’ll be circulating in the Boulevard de los Héroes, home to museums and the university, Zona Rosa and El Centro.

We’ll get to see Plaza Libertad, Plaza Salvador del Mundo, El Centro, the Rosario Church, the National Theatre, Mercado Antiguo Cuscatlán and more. At noon you’ll also get to eat an authentic Salvadoran lunch: pupusas, the national dish of El Salvador! After stuffing ourselves with pupusas we’ll go to the El Boqueron Volcano, just outside of San Salvador and from where we’ll have an outstanding view over San Salvador. We’ll stay overnight in San Salvador.

Day 3. Coffee Tour and Ruta de las Flores

Coffee is an important element to San Salvador’s identity, history and culture. It is coffee which helped shape El Salvador, but also coffee which was one of the main factors which led to political instability, massacres and repression by the land elite who controlled over 90 percent of the country for a long time. Land has now been divided over 20,000 coffee farmers and 95 percent of agricultural land is used for coffee cultivation. We’ll go to Ataco, nicely nestled between the green hills and the coffee plantations where we’ll visit a coffee processing facility and get to learn everything there is to know about one of the most popular drinks on our planet. Ataco is situated along the famous Ruta de las Flores and we’ll discover the rest of this beautiful winding road afterwards as well as other places such the town of Izalco near the Izalco Volcano, Nahuizalco with its indigenous market and Salcoatitan. In the late afternoon we’ll head back to San Salvador and check in at the hotel.

4. Departure

Today we’ll get you to the international airport for your flight out of San Salvador or if you want we can help you with your border crossing to Guatemala or Honduras and even arrange your transport.
