Situated near the Rio Clara tucked between the Magdalena valley and the sultry jungles of Eastern Antioquia lays El Prodigio a natural wonderland.

This area is inhabited by a very unique indigenous culture called the “Pantagoras” who were here long before any Europeans even understood that Colombia existed. The surrounding topography of caves and limestone shelters were used as places of shelter to live, hunt as well as for traditional ceremonies.

You can still find many remains of weapons, spears, ceramics in these caves helping us better understand how these people survived.

Despite a turbulent past filled with civil wars and violent events, the region was able to rediscover peace and unity by the early 90’s. Now free to roam and explore their land the local tribes began to follow suit of that of the Pantagoras as they reclaimed over 28 immaculate archaeological sites in less than a 30km radius.

Our local guides will help unfold the exceptional stories of the petroglyphs and pictograms on display letting the Pantagoras culture sink in.
