Day 1: Cali Airport- Cali (11 days)

35 min transfer from Cali to San Antonio Boutique Hotel. One night in standard room.

Day 2: Cali - NATURAL NIRVANA RESERVE

Here amongst one of the most breathtaking forests in the world the Crespo Comino the Nirvana reserve is excellent for witnessing hundreds of flora and fauna more specifically over 150 recognized species of birds while exploring a natural butterfly garden. Here you can take part and enjoy the surrounding communities local hand made crafts.

Day 3: Cali- Manizales

Transfer from Cali to Manizales where you will spend 1 night in a standard room at the Tinamu Birding Nature Reserve Hotel.

Day 4: Manizales- TINAMU – BIRDWATCHING – 3 DAY

Departing early from the hotel at 6:30 am to one of the most ideal environments for birdwatching with over 260 registered species, the Tinamu hotel natural reserve is boasting with gardens and trails giving you endless opportunities to capture and witness a variety of bird life. The pionus menstruus (or blue headed parrot), the leptotila plumbeiceps and the ortalis colombiana are among some of the most common. You will be accompanied by an English speaking expert guide specialized in bird photography to assist you at the facilities. 

You will return back to the hotel around 5 pm

Day 5: Manizales

Complete day dedicated to exploring Reserve as well as one Night at the Tinamu Birding Nature Reserve Hotel in Standard room.

Day 7: Manizales- Medellin

A Private transfer will shuttle you from Manizales to Medellín. Approximately 4h35 minutes.

Day 8: Medellin - LAS TÁNGARAS RESERVE - BIRDWATCHING AND ANDINE NATURE - 3Day/2 Night

The Antioquia’s coffee-growing region all the way to the Andean part of Colombia’s Choco is where this expedition will commence. You will have the chance to witness the interior pacific lowlands where a stretch of mountains known as the “Farallones de Citara” have created a natural border. It’s easy to call this a far-off isolated location home to a nature reserve called “Las Tangaras” which is home to an array of endemic Andean wildlife. Here you can discover a more in-depth look at the famous Cloud Forest full of endless flora and fauna a well-preserved Andean treasure. There will be an eco-guide there to give a more personal, extensive experience involving bird-watching, hiking as well as scour the coffee growing lands of the Choco district. You will also be exposed to the biggest river of Colombia’s Pacific Coast called the Atrato River. The day will end off at the visitors centre located on the banks of the Atrato River where you will spend the night.

Day 9: Medellin - HIKE THROUGH CHOCÓ´S CLOUD FOREST

This epic day starts on a guided trek amongst the cloud forests inside Las Tangaras nature reserve as you will be up close and personal with some of the countries most enchanting eco-diversity. Understandably this nature reserve and all its ecosystems are a protected range of mountain forests which encompass numerous endemic species of plant and animal life. Once again later in the afternoon you will arrive at the visitors centre to spend another night.

Day 10: Medellin - NATURAL RESERVE OF LAS TÁNGARAS AND VISIT OF THE COFFEE TOWN CIUDAD BOLIVAR

This day will begin similarly to the others with a small trek into the forest with a quick return to the centre around noon. Shortly after we will make our way to Ciudad Bolivar known as one of the most peaceful, welcoming villages in Antioquia. Luckily for the local residents here the mountain range has created a very temperate climate which could add to their jolly selves. After our visit we will make our return to the city of Medellin where will will spend the night at the Diez Hotel.

Day 11: Medellin- Medellin JMC Airport

Private transport from your hotel to Medellin Jose Maria Cordoba airport. Approximately 1h.
