The Pacific coastal region of Bahia Solano in the Choco department should be a more visited location than it currently is, and if one cares to venture here has their work cut out for them. Its isolated beaches are only accessible by plane or boat and are considered by some the most beautiful forgotten places in Colombia where rainforest jungle oozes out onto black volcanic sands, while 4 meter whale spouts can be spotted just offshore. Our 5 day package allows an up close and personal experience with these gracious giants, as well as a chance to explore the rocky rainforest of Utria National Park a true bio-diverse playground.
Day 1: Medellin- Medellin EOH Airport- Medellin- Bahia Solano
Private transport from your hotel to Medellin EOH airport. Approximately 15 minutes.
Domestic flight to Bahia Solano.
Baggage weight limit of 15 kilos, additional kilos can be paid at the airport.
Tourist contribution tax to be paid upon arrival in Bahia Solano: Colombian National $20.000, Tourist $30.000 and children (11-18 years old of any nationality) $10.000.
EL ALMEJAL
The Pacific coast stretches from Panama to Ecuador over a distance of 1300 km. This region has the greatest biodiversity in the country and is the least populated. The Pacific also means rainforests, mangroves, virgin beaches, an incredible biodiversity, whales, and black communities of African descent. El Almejal has its own nature reserve, a tropical forest ecosystem dedicated to conservation and raising awareness about environmental issues and responsible tourism.

Reception at Bahía Solano Airport and transfer to Hotel El Almejal. Installation in our room and free afternoon to enjoy the exceptional environment. The hotel is a true paradise for all nature lovers and travellers looking for peace and quiet and a change of scenery.

Day 2: Bahia Solano
WHALE WATCHING
An exciting morning is ahead of you with a boat tour in search of humpback whales, accompanied by the hotel guide. The boat is perfect to see the animal close up and the impressive mammal is a regular in the Chocó region. Fond of warm water and low water currents, these whales have made Tribugá Gulf their breeding ground. In the afternoon, free time to enjoy the hotel and rest.

UTRIA NATIONAL PARK
After a 35-minute boat ride, where you'll be able to enjoy the incredible scenery of rocks and rainforest, you'll arrive at Utria. The emerald green cove, its mangroves, and white crystal clear water beaches will be the scenery for your hike, where you'll be able to enjoy a swim in the ocean or a hike.

Day 4: Bahia Solano
HIKE IN THE NATURAL RESERVE
After breakfast, you'll set off for the Natural Reserve of the hotel to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the rainforest, with the possibility of seeing some of the most unique animal species in the world.

Transport to Bahia Solano airport to board your flight to Medellín.

- Sea turtle observation (September to January), thanks to a species protection program, you will be able to observe the turtles and possibly attend the birth of their babies.
