A chance to step foot on the northernmost tip of South America, while living with a host Wayuu family to deeply discover another existence, another perspective on life. Unclothe a sea of sand in the Taroa dunes where if the sheer sight of this incandescent oasis doesn’t bring you to your knees the crystalline coastal waters it cascades into will. Join us on an epic, enduring experience for 7 days in this South American masterpiece.
Day 1: Riohacha- Punta Aguja
RIOHACHA - BAHIA HONDA - PUNTA AGUJA
This morning a private driver will be at your hotel in Riohacha at approximately 8:30am. From here you will depart for Guajira desert. En route, you will pass through a salt-producing village, and Uribia, the indigenous capital of the region. Next we will head toward a local ranch that will welcome us for lunch before departing for Bahía Honda this afternoon.We will then take a motorized boat from the end of the bay to Punta Aguja where we will spend the night in hammocks, surrounded by a unique environment. Enjoy a beautiful sunset! Dinner is brought from the nearest rancheria for your comfort. (B, L, D)

Day 2: Punta Aguja- Punta Gallinas
PUNTA AGUJA – PUNTAS GALLINAS
This morning we will walk along Hondita Bay to the lunch spot that has an incredible landscape! You will discover the local fauna and flora on the way. Lunch at a Wayuu rancheria, a well-known place in the region, before heading to the old lighthouse of Punta Gallinas, the northernmost point in South America. We will then head to another Wayuu rancheria where a family will host us for 2 nights. Exchange with family members, free time, dinner and night there. (B, L, D)
Walking time: 3h from the Posada (with stops) + 1h30 in the afternoon for the round trip to the lighthouse - Accommodation: Chinchorro Wayuu
Day 3: Taroa Dune
CULTURAL EXCHANGE – DUNAS DE TAROA
Cultural morning in the house of our hosts. Discover the local traditions with the women of the family! Learn backpack weaving, facial painting, beliefs, and dialect. If you want, you can also give a hand in the kitchen and help with the cooking.
After lunch, walk to Taroa dunes. The temperature is hot and the sun hits hard in that area, but the trek is worth it. Without a doubt, the beauty of the dunes are going to stick in you head for a long time! You'll cross a sand wall and reach the intense blue sea. Walk by the dunes and have some free time on the beach before going back to the ranch in a 4X4 to spend the night. Diner and rest. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Bahia Hondita- Riohacha- Palomino
BAHIA HONDITA - RIOHACHA
We will wake up very early this morning to help our hosts with their daily work: fishing! One of our tasks will consist of gathering the nets that were set the day before. Return for breakfast, which we'll have with our Wayuu family. Then, we will take the boat for a 1-hour trip (3 hours in the rainy season) and then the 4x4 to get to Riohacha. Lunch in Uribia or Riohacha depending on the arrival time. End of this adventure and beginning of a new one! (B, L, D)
Transport: between 5h and 6h until Riohacha
Private transport will take you from Riohacha to Palomino. Approximately 1h15 minutes.
