A Hike in Cocora Valley

Travel down to the home of the National Tree of Colombia and witness the biggest palm tree in the world! Cocora Valley will take you on a delightful trip as you walk in the field of giant palms, be get ready to be whisked away to its gorgeous corners for the day and dream of reaching the sky. 

TOUR ITINERARY 

Around 7:00 in the morning, enjoy your breakfast at Salento first after this you will head down to Cocora Valley. Gear up, make sure to wear your most comfortable shoes. On this trip, you will explore the place which homes to the biggest wax palms in the whole world. Wonder in the natural clouds of the forest, as you pass by 6 hanging bridges similar to one of America's famous movie "Indiana Jones". Traverse to this magnificent river that is said to provide water to the whole Quindio. 

When you arrive in Acaime reserve, immerse in the sounds and colors of hundreds of birds, you will descend for about 1.2km, take a detour towards the mountain, and will continuously ascend till you reach the height of 2,900m to take a rest. You will start your hiking trip again towards the high part of the valley, and you will be welcomed by the panoramic view of the palms. Take in nature, and make sure to take an Instagram worthy picture before you start descending. At the foot of the mountain, your Jeep Willys will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation.
