Salamanca Island Road Park Birdwatching Tour from Santa Marta
- Durata: 1 Giorni (circa)
- Codice prodotto: PS3AYQ
Sandwiched between the cities of Santa Marta and Baranquilla is the Salamanca Island Road Park, a national park in the municipality of Pueblo Viejo. The confluence of sweet water flowing from the Magdalena River and saline water of the Caribbean Sea made the flora and fauna of the area thrive and grow in abundance, especially its bird life and coastal mangroves. As such, the park was designated a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2000.
Depart from Santa Marta at around 6 AM and arrive on the island after about 1.5 hours. Wander through the estuary and encounter many migratory birds like Colibrí cienaguero, Tile cienaguero and Cotorra carasucia. After a few hours here, you'll head to Ciénaga to have lunch and then start your trip back to Santa Marta.
