Aside from its pristine beauty, the park also has historical and archaeological importance as in its heart is the Pueblito ruins which were built by the Tayrona civilization.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Start the day with a pickup from your Santa Marta hotel, traveling for about 45 minutes to El Zaino, the main entrance of Tayrona National Natural Park. Upon arrival, you'll begin your trekking tour of this northern Colombian park, home to some of the most virgin coastal landscapes in the entire country. Hike in the tropical foothills near Playa Cañaveral, at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains then continue to the exotic Arrecifes Beach.
