Caño Cristales is an exceptional and surprising natural site, probably one of the most beautiful in the world. Its unique ecosystem is very fragile and is now part of the Sierra de la Macarena National Natural Park. This succession of waterfalls and rock formations offers a breathtaking colorful spectacle due to prehistoric aquatic plants of yellow, red, green and blue colors.


What to expect


Day 1: The Macarena

Arrival at the Macarena. We then follow a small training course on good environmental practices to follow at Caño Cristales. Installation in your hotel. Lunch in the village before leaving for a 20-minute boat ride on the Guayabero River. We can then enjoy the landscape and the local flora and fauna (birds, turtles and other animals of the region). Then a walk to discover specific sites like Cristalitos or other. Return around 3:30 p.m. to the Macarena. End of the afternoon and free evening.

Departure in the morning for the park of Caño Cristales. We sail for about twenty minutes on the Guayabero River and enjoy the surrounding landscapes before getting into a van that will bring us to the source of the Cajuche. We then visit the path that will have been chosen by the natural park or the Coormacarena organization. We then have lunch at Caño Cristales before returning to the Macarena. Then an evening of integration with show, music, folk dance and discovery of the local gastronomy.

Return home

Breakfast in the early morning. We then leave for Caño Cristales by taking the same path as the day before until Cajuche. We then visit the path designated by the Natural Park. Lunch then return to the Macarena.
