Tayrona National Park or Parque Nacional Natural is an enchanting sliver of Colombia’s Caribbean coast backed by the rugged foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta the world’s tallest coastal mountain range. The park is considered a nature sanctuary as it offers a large variety of flora and fauna because it includes two ecosystems between the mountains and the sea. With the park covering some 12,000 hectares of land and 3000 hectares of coral-rich sea it not only has immense natural importance but some feel this region also prides itself as a cultural treasure.
What to expect
This morning depart from Santa Marta at 8am. The drive this morning will be about two hours along the coast until we reach the entrance of the park. We will begin at the first beach Arrecifes and then continue to further beaches ultimately climbing toward Pueblito. Expect impeccable white sands and crystal blue waters en route today and perhaps one of your most memorable visits in Colombia!
We will return to Santa Marta around 6pm this afternoon.
