WHAT TO EXPECT

Day 1: Cartagena / Tayrona National Natural Park

Depart from Cartagena in the morning and enjoy a scenic ride through the coastal cities of Barranquilla and Santa Marta. Arrive in Tayrona National Natural Park after approximately 5 hours. With a local guide, hike in the tropical foothills near Playa Cañaveral at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Have a delicious lunch at the park's reef sector, you'll have the opportunity to laze on the pristine beach or take a short tour around the park, appreciating its rich flora and fauna, and the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Coast. 

The rest of the evening will be at your leisure then spend the night in a cabin near the park. 

Day 2: Tayrona National Natural Park / Santa Marta / Cartagena 

Enjoy some free time in the morning before traveling to the city of Santa Marta at around 11 am. Founded by the Spanish in 1525, this busy capital boasts colonial architecture, beautiful beaches, and the stunning mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range. Take a short tour and visit Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the place where the liberator Simón Bolívar lived his last days. You'll then be transferred back to Cartagena in the afternoon.
