- 기간: 5 일 (대략)
- 위치: Bamako
- 상품 코드: mali5day
Once home to several pre-colonial empires, the landlocked West African country of Mali is one of the largest in the continent. Timbuktu, its northern city was a key regional trading post and center of Islamic culture for centuries. But there is so much more to Mali than Timbuktu, and on this tour, you will discover the culture and ways of living in Bamako, the capital, Sikasso, and Segou.
What to Expect
Day 1: Arrival in Bamako
Arrive in Bamako airport where the driver will be waiting for you and will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day can be spent at your leisure.
Day 2: Bamako-Sikasso
Hop on your airconditioned vehicle and take a scenic ride southeast from Bamako to the city of Sikasso. In contrast to other parts of Mali, Sikasso, the second-largest city in Mali, has a desirable subtropical climate which allows the locals to produce plenty of fruit and vegetables throughout the year. If time permits, you'll take a tour around the city and see some of its best landmarks including the Mamelon hill, which used to be a sacred site of the Kénédougou kings, Missiricoro caves, and more.
Day 3: Sikasso-Segou
From Sikasso, head north to Segou, one of Mali's largest towns located by the Niger River and the former colonial administrative center of the country. Upon arrival and checking in at your hotel, you may spend the rest of the day as you wish.
Day 4: Segou
Today, you'll explore the village of Ségou-Koro, the former seat of the Bambara Empire where the body of the late King Biton Coulibaly lies. Then, learn about local arts and appreciate the talent and skill of three artists in town as you explore their impressive ateliers or studios.
Day 5: Segou-Bamako
Have some free time in the morning to do a little more of exploring on your own and buying some local items as a souvenir. Your 5-day tour concludes with a transfer back to your hotel or airport in Bamako.
