It is compulsory to share the information with the immigration department before you come while mentioning numbers of people you are expecting and their nationalities, nature of their business, so that they can receive invitations and allow us to receive you at the airport and get you into the city. It is the law, and for your own safety. No exceptions.
Tourists are all registered and supervised under the Somalia Ministry of Tourism, and Security is Mandatory if you are not Somali. Kismayo is one of the only regions of Somalia that is relatively more safe. Driving from Mogadishu to here without heavy security is not recommended and we refuse this service. You fly or you come under hugely heavily armed escort. By boat is extremely dangerous due to many pirates on the coast between Mogadishu and Kismayo port.
YOU WILL BY REQUIREMENT HAVE 4 ARMED SECURITY TRAINED IN OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE GUERILLA AND URBAN WARFARE, BUT ALSO FRIENDLY AND WELL-FIXED IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
We do not include food in the tour for flexibility and control for the client's budget but can arrange all of the food if they'd like to get an accurate synopsis and cuisine-cross-section of Somali cuisine as well.
For Somali diaspora and nationals and some exemptions and waivers written with permits, we can do these tour without the same regime and for smaller, local prices, from about $200 to $500 a day. For most entrants and visitors, you will need the full process and contingent. - You will also sign additional waivers when you arrive and for some nations, need to notarize this in your home country to attest with a witness you know where you are going and in good judgment realize the dangers of here.

Number of people: Maximum 2 (It is not safe to pool more guests unless you bring much more firepower) per contingent group. If your group is more than 2, we will bring you in shifts or separate teams.
Day 1 - Arrive in Kismayo
Pick up at the airport.
Representatives will assist you on obtaining your visa on arrival if not flying in from Somali cities.
You will be taken to the guest house for your briefing followed by a
trip into Kismayo. We'll see the main mosques, beaches, and markets of the town.
Day 2 – Kismayo
Once again, armed with your security team and fixer you'll be able
to visit the markets, bazaars and beaches of this traumatized yet
vibrant city. We will cover the history and economy and current affairs of the place, and maybe visit some local government and commercial magnates to hear their version of local sentiments.
Day 3 - Kismayo National Park
We'll take a brief drive into the Kismayo National Park where entrances are included and we can view of few of the classic East African wildlife found also in Kenya and Uganda and Tanzania, and a few rarer birds that populate the area. Today we spend outside the city mainly.
Day 4 - Bajuni Islands and Barduni Bushbush National Park
Today we tour the azure archipelago of the Bajuni Islands where the fishing is good, the sharks are plentiful, security is tense, and the coastline is magnificent. We continue further down towards Ras Kombouni, and tour the second national park of Southern Somalia, where security is significantly good due to the presence of Kenyan forces and border security. At times this part of the trip may be off limits.
Day 5 - Out
Your security escort will drop you at the airport to catch your flight.
No sightseeing on the final day.
You will be accompanied by an experienced English speaking Somali
guide/translator and a four-man security detail for the entire time
you are out of the guest house.

A letter of invitation will be issued and the visa collected at
Mogadishu airport. The visa costs US$60 (payable in US$)
We do not directly arrange flights and visas but we can suggest the
best routes and operators.
Turkish Airlines is the most convenient way to reach Mogadishu
from Europe. Jubba Airways from Dubai to Kismayo or Mogadishu and Several from Nairobi
also fly to Kismayu.
Food:
Meals in restaurants outside and the guesthouse are not included.
Accommodation:
The accommodation is in a secure guesthouse.
You will have a private room with wifi.
Of course we will not reveal the place publicly but only privately, for security
Guides:
When outside of the guesthouse you will be accompanied by a
security detail with one vehicles complete with local fixer/translator.
This is to ensure your security and to enable you to safely visit the
areas you wish with informed and detailed information on what you
are seeing.
Security:
Trips to Somalia do create dangers all of their own and whilst we
want you to have as much freedom as possible we must state that
the security team have the final word with regards to changes in the
itinerary for safety reasons. Whilst security has improved recently in
Mogadishu and deterioration to security could result in the
cancellation of all or parts of the trip at short notice.
