Osun State 3-Day Tour with Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove

Discover the treasures of the western state of Osun and unravel the mysteries of the Osun-Oshogbo Sacred Groves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on this 3-day historical and cultural tour.

Day 1: Osogbo

Start the day in Osogbo, the capital city of the state. Visit Museum Palace and know more about the journey of Yinka Fabayo, a local artist. You can also opt to meet and hear interesting stories from the Ooni of Ife Kingdom himself, the traditional king ruling the Yoruba kingdom of Ile-Ife.

Day 2: Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove

Today, we'll spend a whole day touring the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The dense forest of the grove is one of the last remnants of primary high forest in southern Nigeria. Within the sanctuary are forty shrines, sculptures and artworks erected in honor of Osun and other Yoruba deities. There are also sacred places and worship points strung along the banks of the meandering Osun river.

Day 3: Olumirin Waterfalls

Enjoy a quick visit to Oranmi and then head to Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls (also known as Olumirin waterfalls) for some splashing adventure. The waterfall is a favorite amongst the locals for its stunning flora and is believed to have medicinal properties.
