This trip gets you out of the city and into the mountains and lakes spanning and running around the nation, to let you camp if desired or just get into nature and enjoy the landscapes, volcanoes, and vistas.

The trip stays at excellent midrange hotels or camps and includes fantastic Vehicles or Boats and guiding. We do not include food in the tour for flexibility and control for the client's budget, but can arrange all of the food if they'd like to get an accurate synopsis and cuisine-cross-section of Djibouti as well. 

WORKING ITINERARY

Day 1: Visit the Primary Forest and Park Reserve to Sable Blanc

Pickup from Djibouti City, Hotel, or Airport and we head to tour around the Primary Forest at almost 2000 meters elevation decked with Juniper trees and strangler figs. Here rests the retreat and summer house of the former governor, and with a great overlook view, then we head down to the Sable Blancs beach, the most beautiful beach in the nation replete with corals and tropical fish and a mountain-backed resort hotel.

Day 2: Seaside Mountain Slopes to Lake Abbe and the Chimneys to High Lake Assal and Salt Flats

We head high to lake Abbe to spot Flamingos and the unique geology. We head next to the grand Bara desert and the rupestrian gravure. Finally we make our way to Lake Assal the salt lake in the mountains reminiscent of Patagonia or Bolivia, and continue a geological expedition to the tectonic plaques and ocean rift which makes the place so strange and unique. We overnight at Assal here if desired and doable with the group demographics.

Day 3: Geology and volcanoes and down to the city

We spend more of the day exploring the high altitude magic of the Horn's Best geological sites and head down in the afternoon to Djibout City to a place of your choosing.
