Saudi Arabia Border Crossing Formal Service & Onward Transport (Visas Not Included)

Saudi Arabia takes border security extremely seriously, and these services are contingent on you having all proper visas and documentation. At these borders, we can assure the property authorities, which we submit to, get and process your documents for departure, and that you make it via the transit to the main city on the other side.

The borders with Yemen, Kuwait, and Qatar are not active for our tourists at the moment and we have ceased these services.

How do you cross from Africa or the Middle East into Saudi Arabia?

How can you sail from Africa to Saudi Arabia? Ferry Boat to Saudi Arabia from Sudan and Eritrea?

How do you drive from Saudi Arabia to Iraq or Dubai?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iraq

The Iraq border is used for goods and merchandise, and mainly tourists attending the Hajj or Karbalah and Umrah, moving back and forth at Arar. You need to have a visa for Iraq or an Iraqi passport to pass. The passage is via a private vehicle and bus connection, and takes about half a day to a day.

Sudan

The Sudan frontier is accessed by ferry to Jeddah, and departure needs proper visas and paperwork for Sudan. The trip takes one day and is aboard a boat with air conditioning and seats (Usually Chinese built) and the wait times on either side can be about a day on either side of the sailing. The passage includes the transfer from Jeddah and the transfer on the other side to Port Sudan center, and the boat and guide.

Eritrea

The Eritrea frontier is accessed by ferry to Jazan, and departure needs proper visas and paperwork for Eritrea. The trip takes one day and is aboard a boat with air conditioning and seats (Usually Indian built) and the wait times on either side can be about a half a day on either side of the sailing. The passage includes the transfer from Jazan and the transfer on the other side to Massawa center, and the boat and guide. Nowadays the transit is a combination of car ferry and passenger ferry and/or flight.

Jordan

The Jordan border is used for goods and merchandise and general passenger traffic and is generally open. You need to have a visa for Jordan or a Jordan or KSA or special bloc passport to pass. The passage is via a private vehicle and bus connection and takes about half a day.

UAE

The UAE border is used for goods and merchandise and general passenger traffic and is generally open. The passage is via a private vehicle and takes about half a day. We include drop off to your chosen location in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

For Vehicles:

We can provide a staff member at the border to assist. The cost for this service would be around $2000-5000 in addition to other small or standard fees. (Ask for updated pricing after 2024, but it will not be less than this.)

Please make sure to have the following:

- Valid passport

- Vails visa for Saudi Arabia

- Vehicle registration documents

As for Eritrea or Sudan vehicle overlander/adventurer transit at the moment, we suggest using a car ferry while flying as it is usually the cheapest option (under $6K total)
