Saudi Arabia Museums, Roses and Souks: Jeddah and Taif 3-Day Tour

The commercial capital of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah has its own charm, pace, and custom. This city by the sea was the historic crossroads of the pilgrims and traders, and the traditional gateway to Mecca. Today, Jeddah has been welcoming people to its shores with its thriving arts scene, spectacular contemporary architecture, and a waterfront culture that are symbols of the Kingdom's modernization.

Located around 180 km from Jeddah is its counterpart, Taif. Taif has an old-world charm and is home to mist-topped mountains, fields of flowers, and an ancient market tradition that dates back hundreds of years. Here, you can experience a rarely-seen side of Saudi, amid the mountains and greenery.

On this tour, we will learn more about the history and culture of Saudi Arabia's "Seaside Jewel" and "City of Roses."

Day 1: Jeddah

Start with a tour around Historic Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage site situated on the eastern shore of the Red Sea. Stroll around Souk Al Alawi, the oldest in Jeddah, and then head to King Fahd Fountain, the highest fountain in the world, and the coastal area around it. Enjoy a dolphin show at Fakieh Aquarium and go on a shopping spree at Mall of Arabia. You'll also visit Beit Nassif and Abdul Raouf Khalil Museum before the tour ends.

Day 2: Jeddah - Taif

Board a bus and travel east to Taif, a city in the Mecca Province. Enjoy a tour of Alkur Tourist Resort and visit a rose distillery, rose plantations, and a local fruit market. 

Dinner and overnight at Taif hotel.

Day 3: Taif - Jeddah

Explore the historical side of Taif and start with Grand Masjid Abdullah Ibn Abbas, a mosque that houses the tomb of Qur'anic interpreter and jurist Abdullah bin Abbas. You will also visit other mosques Al-Madhoun, Addas, and Alkuo. Visit Al-Shifa area to have lunch and swing by Al-Sharif Museum, one of the best Arabic museums in Saudi.

At the end of the day, hop on a bus and head back to Jeddah.
