Day 1:
Arrive today at Moroni airport, where you will be met with a warm salutation and then begin land transfer to the hotel after briefly touring the city, the lively capital of Grand Comore and the Comoros Islands. Installation at the hotel where the decor and design is also composed of huge real baobabs that are home to colonies of fruit bats and makis (lemurs)!!
Relaxation and beach | Overnight at Golden Tulip
Day 2:
We will start at any hotel of your choice in the island, and head to the trailhead, where we will spend half a day hiking leisurely in the forest and volcano slopes at the base. It can take the whole day for the roundtrip circuit through the evergreen conifer forest to the black sand and lava summit area with bizarre vegetation, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any snacks.
A lot of totally endemic plants and birds, all rare by their very essence of evolving on a remote detached island, live within the forest. We will try to spot them in the woods and slopes today as we go.
On the way back down and back to town, and depending on your pace, if there is time and the researchers and locals have opened it to the public, we may stop at the "dragon" dig and archeological site here, a few km away (small island, but lots of nature and history.)
*Please note a moderate to high level of physical fitness is required to summit Mount Karthala and Karthala Volcano. It is also perfectly acceptable as an alternative to do a beach and forest nature hike today rather than the summit, as an alternate.

Day 3:
We will start at any hotel of your choice in the island, and head to the Iconi mosque first, where we will spend half a day meandering in the markets and mosques and labyrinthine sinews of the Comorian towns and souks. We will taste some snacks and spices/flavors that are famed and endemic (and historic) in Comoros too, and then hit the ring road to circle the island's black and white sand beaches while gazing up at the monstrous volcanic slopes of might Mt Karthala at the base. It can take the whole day for the roundtrip circuit through the island to the black sand and white sand beaches and stretches where we can have a picnic and enjoy swimming and serenity, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any comfort snacks.

Day 4:
It can take the whole day for the boat launch and back and the roundtrip circuit through the island to the black sand and white sand beaches and stretches where we can have a picnic and enjoy swimming snorkeling and serenity, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any comfort snacks. Lunch is provided.
Bouni Beach and Village, Chomoni Beach and Village, and other beaches have no entrance fee in Comoros Isles. We use the best boat available for the day and do not go far from shore for safety.

Day 5:
After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Moroni airport by car and the main airport for your flight to Anjouan. Arrive today at Matsumudu airport, where you will be met with a warm salutation and then begin land transfer to the hotel after briefly touring the city, the lively capital of Anjouan. Head down the beach to check the rooms and complete installation at the beach hotel where you can relax and take in the view of the remote marine wilderness.

Day 6:
We will start at any hotel of your choice in the island, and head to the trailhead, where we will spend half a day hiking leisurely in the forest and volcano slopes and around to the lake (about 4 hours total trekking.) It can take the whole day for the roundtrip circuit through the forest and to the lake and lunch and leisurely beach, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any snacks.

Day 7:
We start up the day with a pickup at your hotel after breakfast, and head to visit the medina of Mutsa and do a little hike in the heights of the maze to see a panoramic view of the whole medina. From here we spend a day staging a soiree and outing to moya plage (enjoy the great lobster meal + grilled fish) and visit the city of millennial Domoni and carved doors and crafts. See the domain of the Comorian sultans and the plantations of Comorian perfumes and spices (and beautiful black sand draped with green) of the isle and seashore, exploring with a veteran local guide in the archipelago.
Starting at the village of Domoni, where we will spend the day rounding the sites and delights of the "island of perfume," seeing the Medina of Mutsa and some of the ylang ylang, vanilla, and other endemic plantations of Anjouan, taking a happy hiatus for the lobster lunch on a black sand (volcanic sand) beach, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any snacks.

Day 8:
We start up the day with a pickup at your hotel after breakfast, after breakfast, and head to the entrance to the pier to embark on a nice boat trip and picnic to the Isle de Sel (Salt Island) with our private boat, to enjoy the day and the diving (snorkeling and swimming gear bring your own or ask us ahead of time) and the emerald waters of Madagascar's prettiest bays. From here we spend a day cruising around the seabound splendor of the island and past the dark green forests and vanilla-lined volcano at the center of Anjouan, which is replete with the odors of perfumes and spices (and beautiful black sand, exploring with a veteran local guide in the archipelago, and will also stop at salt island for a delicious and unbeatable local lobster lunch and Comorian picnic. We enjoy a great break and view of the natural marine environment on and around Anjouan, and watch for dolphins that live in the area.
FLOW OF THE DAY: We will start and head to the beachhead, where we will embark on our day leisurely cruising and swimming, viewing the volcano and Dzialandze crater slopes. Bring as much water as you may need for the day and any snacks, though lunch is provided. We cruise to the salt island and enjoy snorkeling, swimming, and dolphin watching today. We use the private boat for the day. We also see the manufacture of salt (local ecotourism to visit the industry.)

*Please note a you need to be able to swim for this tour and should always swim with a buddy or partner for the safety system. Also, we bring choice local ingredients and excellent seafood for the lunch, and cannot usually take special food requests beyond what is reasonable.

Day 9:
After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Matsumudu airport by car and the main airport for your departing flight for Fomboni, where you will be met with a warm salutation and then begin land transfer to the hotel after briefly touring the city, the lively capital of Moheli. Head down the beach to check the rooms and complete installation at the beach hotel Lake Lodge where you can relax and take in the view of the remote marine wilderness.

Day 10:
We start up the day with a pickup at Laka Lodge, after breakfast, and head to board the watercraft and embark on a loop of Moheli to watch for dolphins, marine life, and excursion into the Moheli Marine Park rimming the south of the lowest latitude of the Comorian archipelago. From here we spend a day circling the Moheli Marine Park and looking out for Marine Life, cruising the sapphire blue lagoon inlets, spotting dolphins and even whales at certain times of the year, and seeing the Comorian catch come in, as well as some of the most stunning sunsets and landscapes in the entire Indian Ocean!
Today spend the day rounding the sites and delights of Moheli, seeing the endemic marine buffer beauty of the shores of Comoros' most pretty isle. We will cruise around the island for most of the day and it is a private tour, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any food or snacks.

We will try to spot them from the boat and beachside today as we go. The 10 jurisdictions or neighborhoods around the park help co-manage the conservation and preservation of the park in cooperation and transaction with the national government of the Comoros.

Day 11:
We start up the day with a pickup at Laka Lodge, after breakfast, and head to embark on a loop of Moheli to explore the southernmost island of the sparkling sapphire archipelago. We head to the far east to Itsamia first, to see the turtles. Then, we delve further into the terrestrial natural beauty of Moheli, walking in the green jungles and heading to Wallah Waterfalls to relax and enjoy the magnificent landscapes. We finally head to Miremani at the end of the tour to enjoy the other cascades and can look out for tons of marine birds and dolphins in the area as well, near Itsamia who hosts the turtles. We will spend some time in the interior, before trekking lightly to Wallah Waterfalls to admire the beauty. We end at Miremani for some other cascades and one of the most beautiful meetings of rainforests, rivers, and sea in the Comoros.

Day 12:
We start up the day with a pickup at Laka Lodge, after breakfast, and head around the circle road of the island to take in the towns, mosques, markets, history, and the BEST food and favorite secluded beach spots to make the most of your time on a trip or excursion. ---- and you don't have to drive! From here we spend the first earliest part of the day sweeping through the mosques and marketplaces and mud and metal huts of Fomboni and Nioumachoua, and combing the haunts and history of the original inhabitants of the Comoran archipelago, who brushed the fame and fortunes of the Portugese traders and Magellan all the way to Captain Cook and the Libertalia Pirates. We see the tiny sparkling islets of Nyumashiwa off the southern coast, and try all of the tastes of town at the market and head to the oldest church at Miringoni, away further in Moheli. We finish with a lovely time on a secluded beach to relax and relish the waves of the remotest part of the Indian Ocean.
Today we taste some snacks and spices/flavors that are famed and endemic (and historic) in Comoros too, and then hit the ring road to circle the island's best beaches while gazing out at the pristine islet and marine reserve offshore. It can take the whole day for the roundtrip circuit through the island to the stretches where we can enjoy swimming and serenity, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any comfort snacks.
