This tour takes in more of the mainland of Madagascar "sans Tana" and is a perfect counterpart for example for 2 weeks in the south, or as the best of a standalone trip, with its own lemurs, tsingy, amazing rainforest and beach and unique landscapes, and cultural and village and city tours of Madagascar. A great dissection and sampler of the country at large and a great value tour for 2 weeks. Browse beaches and look at lemurs in Nosy Be, Lokobe Reserve, and the emerald archipelago in the northern lisland chain, and the great geological and ecological wonders of the north of Madagascar. Walk among and admire the awesome Ankarana Tsingy, huge crystalline razor-sharp rock forests replete with wildlife, and explore the endemics eco-incubator that is the massive Amber Mountains National Park. See the old Russian Naval port of Diego Suarez and the 3 Blue bays, popular now with kitesurfers and off-the-path explorers and replete with 20th century history. End with your friends the energetic lemurs back in Nos Be again and see the lemur life all around Nosy Komba and the marine life at Nosy Tanikely.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN NOSY BE (HELLVILLE FASCENE AIRPORT)

MTT will meet the client at the airport and welcome and introduce them to the big isle, and transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

DAY 2: NOSY BE – LOKOBE PARK AND RESERVE AND LEMURS

Breakfast today at the hotel and enjoy the best sunrise in the Indian Ocean.

We depart today to visit the Lokobe National Park on the East range of the island, in an untouched reserve. We will drive through some of the sights and delights of the big isle as we overland to Ambatozavavy. From here we will boat a local canoe to go deep into Lokobe and explore the rainforest ecosystem. We'll walk around and visit the park, inhabited by lots of resident lemurs and birds, strange reptiles like the panther chameleon and other scaled denizens. We'll explore for about 3 hours or for much more if you'd like, and then enjoy a lunch on the beach. Later this afternoon, we will make our way back to the hotel.

DAY 3: NOSY BE – ANKIFY – ANKARANA NATIONAL PARK

Transfer by car today to the port of Hellville. Transfer by boat to Ankify port on the mainland of Madagascar. Departure through the agriculturally lush and absolutely beautiful route around Ambanja and the flavor palette of the island, to Ankarana National Park next by passing through the Sambirano valley. Sambirano is well known for the plantation and production of Cocoa (chocolate like Madecasse, Robert, and Cinagara/Menakao/Tsara, for coffee, for the all-powerful one-and-only bourbon vanilla (yes, Madagascar vanilla,) and for the perfumery and fragrance giants like Chanel's coveted ylang-ylang plants. We arrive at the hotel at the end of the afternoon.

DAY 4: ANKARANA

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car and then by foot into the massif of Ankarana and enter the infinite Tsingy trails and superstructures overgrown and nestling together tropical rainforest. We spend the day walking inside the massif and exploring what in the 80's was termed the home of The Lemurs of the Lost World. Picnic lunch inside Ankarana during the visit. Return to your hotel late in the afternoon.

A little bit about the Tsingy of Ankarana : Sharp limestone needles (called tsingys) dominate the landscape and color scheme here, in silver grey against emerald green, but this seemingly inhospitable environment is home to one of the highest density of primates of any forest in the world, as well as several special species of lemurs, and tons of geckos andcrocodiles. We visit attractions such as the bat cave, watering hole and the small tsingy, before checking into our hotel.

DAY 5: ANKARANA PARK – RED TSINGY - JOFFREVILLE

Breakfast at the hotel. We take the route to Analamera for the Tsingy Rouge (Red Tsingy.)After the visit of

the red tsingy, we continue all the way to Joffreville.

DAY 6: JOFFREVILLE - AMBER MOUNTAINS

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a day full of discovery and walking today inside the Amber Mountains. Depending on your physical condition, different levels and intensities for routes and treks will be proposed. Lunch break of course. In the afternoon, we have a small visit of Joffreville village on the way back to the lodge.

A little bit about the National Park of Montagnes D'Ambre (Amber Mountains):

Located in a volcanic group of the quaternary, the park of the Amber Mountains covers

18,200 hectares of a prominent volcanic massif with its striking scenery, rainforest, and

waterfalls. It is one of Madagascar’s most visited natural attractions. The park was created in

1958 to protect the massif and its ecosystems, including the region’s unique flora and fauna.

In the Park you will have the chance to see seven species of lemurs, the aye-aye, the ring-

tailed mongoose and a variety of reptiles including frogs, geckos and chameleons, as well as

more than 70 species of birds

DAY 7: DIEGO SUAREZ – 3 BAYS – DIEGO SUAREZ

Excursion to the 3 Bays : Baie des pigeons (Pigeon Bay) ; baie des dunes (Dune Bay) ; and the baies des Sakalava (Saklava Bay.) Round that off with a walk on a sandy beach and lunch on the best sunny spot in Suarez!  Enjoy free time for swimming here before sunset and drive and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 8: DIEGO SUAREZ – ANKIFY

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive overland through the cacao lands and fertile green gardenscapes of Northern Madagasdcar on the scenic route back to Ankify port, to get ready to cross overwater back to the Be.

DAY 9: ANKIFY – NOSY KOMBA – NOSY TANINKELY – NOSY BE

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will spend a lot of time aboard boats.

Transfer to the harbor of Ankify aboard the ferry then boat crossing to Nosy Komba. We can enjoy the presence of the rare and only-here black lemurs on the little island of Komba. After the visit, we directly again transfer by boat to the Marine National Park of Tanikely, a lighthouse island for the region historically that now became a protected marine reserve and home to balls and walls of tropical reef fish, strange sealife and large green seaturtles. Enjoy free time for swimming and diving around Tanikely this afternoon to your heart's content, before boating and overlanding to transfer back to your hotel.

DAY 10 - 11: NOSY BE

2 days inclusive and relaxed and at leisure.

Possibilities here on the big island Be of many optional and cheap activities to peruse at guest's discretion. Nosy Be has

adventure sports and outdoor activities, watersports, massage, nightlife, great sashimi and sushi, and more.

DAY 12: NOSY BE – OUT

Breakfast at the hotel this morning and a last sunrise treat. MTT will transfer you back to the Nosy Be Hellville airport for your departing flight.
