ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Arrival in Antananarivo and transfer to haunted hotel outside the city limits. There is a hotel outside Tana where 5 and maybe 6 consecutive murders of unrelated victims has taken place, and is set on a graveyard. Brace yourself. It is also very dark at night. We will stay with you. The name translates into the hotel of the owner's family name, but the hotel doesn't appear online.

DAY 2-4 - Flight to Sambava, transfer to Ocean Momo guesthouse. Begin tour to Saanta south towards Cap'Est (the eastern most point of Madagascar) Saanta was the site of many witch-burnings and apparently in books in Malagasy burnings of other beings or bizarre lifeforms in pictures. The feature of Saanta today is that it is a deep countryside village on the way to Masaola forest, which is under threat by massive illegal rosewood logging. Accommodation is at village stays in guesthouses.

Several times MTT have met locals and even foreigners who have visited Saanta and found it strange without any prior knowledge of its history, and all mention the creepy graveyard. The most common collaborated story is meeting a beautiful girl in the evening, usually walking outside, who sleeps with the visitor and then waking up in the graveyard. This story has been corroborated 4 times now by 4 mutually unaware people. The town generally has the darkest history in Madagascar due to the horrible execution of many innocent people who were accused of being possessed.

DAY 5-7 - The next days we visit some haunted GPS points in Masaola Forest where the locals believe that loggers and people who have disrespected the forest have outright died or become infected and possessed, and then died. It is believed that the forest punishes the Chinese and Malagasy mafia who is killing it today, and many villagers are afraid to step foot into it. Accommodation is in tents and guesthouses in the river tributary town outside.

Masaola also has a population of lemurs and many other endemic animals which make it a fantastic standalone destination in Madagascar. It is one of the most rare and most highly endangered ecosystems in Madagascar and most unique endemic forest populations of spectacular wildlife in the world. This trip we stay in the forest without tourist lodges like on the other side. So you'll be in the forest without other tourists.

DAY 8 - Cap Est Stop - Bizarre stories abound about this region too, as Benosky the pirate, famous in the history of Libertalia to the south, had a beautiful blond wife or sex slave which Malagasy people report seeing on clifs and in the woods. Even a couple of NGOs and tourists have spotted her apparently.
