Congo Ocean, River, or Lake Fishing Trip (Or just rent the boat)

Explore local fishing and maritime villages making a living off of the coast of Africa’s biggest jungle where it meets the sea. Take a relaxing boat into the ocean for fun, fishing, and food...Congolese beauty, beer, and barbecue! 

The Congo has some of the strangest and largest fish off of its shores and in its rivers to be tackled, and we, in fact, bring the tackle for it! - Generally this is just a day tour from Pointe Noire Yacht Club area, and we need at least a few days in advance to confirm the availability of the boat. Last minute bookings are occasionally possible though may need somebody to collect payment the day of.

Many local fish and other delicacies in the Congo interior are not even documented by science!! Plus you can cook the classics (grill the fish) that you catch.

3 Options for Destinations in The Area:

1. Lac Papyrus (Lake): One morning, followed by lunch at Malonda Lodge if you want. Traditional fishing on Lac Papyrus and Loumé River. This is in a piroque with experienced fishermen. You can have lunch at Malonda Lodge afterwards. 

2. Les Sara (River): Go with professional local fishermen in a piroque to fish in Les Sara in the traditional Congolese way. This can be followed by river tubing (a great time -see our Les Sara tour for details) and climbing the nearby tourist tree hut to make it a really nice trip. 

3. Ocean: This is in a great boat owned by a french expat and captain for CTT or his associates. Our ocean fishing trip includes everything - boat, fuel, life vests, bait, basic gear (but you are advised to bring your own if you have it,) small picnic and drinks, and leaves and returns near the restaurant "Cercle Naval." The location of the boat occasionally changes so we will inform you upon booking.
