Zakouma National Park and The Black Mountains

We can, definitely, guarantee you a cultural and adventurous experience at Zakouma National Park. You will see firsthand the payoff of all the hard work and effort done in repopulating Zakouma National Park after poachers, as this national park is a major Chadian success story covering now almost 1,200 square miles and home to 44 species of game animal such as antelope, elephant, giraffe, lion, primates and wildebeest.

Not only you will camp at the famous APN camps (Nomad, Tinga, etc) and experience Zakouma National Park at night, but also you will be part of excursions in different regions such as Abou-Deia, Bokoro and Massaguet, which are not offered by the APN. In this excursion, you will be able to see ethnic tribes and nomads. Itinerary

Day 1

After your flight on Ndjamena, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 

After the formalities of the police, our convoy will head towards the southeast zone, via Massaguet and Bokoro. An area of transient tribls of nomads, the Peulhs and Teda in the family of the Toubou ethnic group. Then we begin our voyage to the mountain of Guera before crossing the agricultural zone of Bitkin. Our camp under the world's best starry sky and tents will be installed for a spectacular night vista under the clearest sky of stars you've ever seen in your life. 

Day 3

Our convoy crosses the corridor Aboutel fan (Sacred Mountain of Guera), where the inhabitants of this zone are historically perched on the top of this mountain to protect themselves from the Islamic incursions. Very very awesome testament to human tactical technology for defense.

The construction of this road forced these people to leave the top to occupy the land, but they left the old settlement as the area of worship. Picnic on the way before entering the perimeter of the national park of Zakouma. 

One of your first observations will be the fauna and flora of the park! 

Also, you will find the camp Tinga a marvelous base with marvelous staff from the APN. Overnight at Zakouma Park.

Day 4

We are devoted to the development of the park and also part of the company of experienced guides of the Park Zakouma. The activities at Park Zakouma today are: 

-Watering grounds (watering holes for large animal drinking)

-Night vision (Seeing nocturnal species and general night animal viewing)

-Walking on foot with a ranger (walking safaris with the super-trained Chad park rangers.)

-Lunch in the middle of the park (with a view of a multitude of elephant herds and buffaloes.) 

-Lions are around and visible (best in the evening and secondly also during the morning.) 

Day 5

Once you leave the park, the eastern excursion of Abu-Deia begins where you'll see granite monoliths along the cliff of Via Dafra village, at the foot of Mount Guera. There will be several visits and meetings with the ethnic tribe Hadjarai. 

The little cabarets under the hut are waiting for you to share the beer of the Shorgo too! 

The womens' half-naked dress belies that the Hajaris were an animistic people. Women are engaged in the cultivation of peanuts, which are part of the economic production, and their terracotta pottery is also appreciated around the world. 

Day 6

Return to Ndjamena via the main road & via Massaguet, transfer to the hotel in the capital again on half board basis. 

Day  7 

You'll visit the city, craft market and big market, cathedral, museum and the great mosque. Meals will be taken in a restaurant in town. You´ll relax at the end of the evening so you can be transferred for your flight.
