Goroka Day Tour: Goroka's Main Market, Arts & Crafts Market, JK McCarthy Museum, Goroka Coffee Roasting, Raun Raun Theatre, and Mount Kiss Trek.

Itinerary:

Welcome to Goroka! This morning your guide will pick you up in a private car from your accommodation/hotel in Goroka and you begin exploring the town. 

Today will include a visit to the local, fresh produce market. Goroka's main market is especially known for its fruits and vegetables. A local market is an exciting place that offers a great look into a day in the life of many locals. There are loads of colors, smells, and experiences that are unique to the city and is a great start to our day!

We will also stop at the JK McCarthy Museum today. The museum is home to many artifacts and photographs that help tell the story of the area;s history. While the museum is especially interesting to history buffs, it should not be missed by those who aren't. Understanding the history or learning a small piece of what brought this Highlands area to the state it is now can make your overall stay in the area that much more meaningful or simply bring a bit of reality into different aspects of the city. 

Today we will stop at the Goroka coffee roasting facility where you'll have the chance to experience and possibly taste great coffee! The Highlands are renowned for being a very good area to grow coffee. 

The Raun Raun Theatre is a historical building in the city that is well known for its traditional and modern theatre. The theatre was built in the 1980s and still hosts sing sings and also more contemporary pieces.

We will also have a pit stop today at the arts and crafts market in Goroka. Here is a great chance to grab some souvenirs of your trip. Much of the work is done by local artisans and is therefore unique to the area. 

To finish the day off, we will do a little trek up to Mount Kiss. Mount Kiss offers an incredible view of the city and a great spot to relax and take plenty of pictures.

You will then be transferred back to your hotel/accommodation in Goroka or straight to the airport if you prefer.
