Itinerary


Day 1 - Kashgar

Arrive at Kashgar Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up before heading out to explore the city at your own leisure


Day 2 - Kashgar

Spend the day touring this charming town and the famous Yakshambe Bazar, also known as the Sunday Market. Start the day by seeing the town's iconic mosque before heading to the animal market. You will then spend the morning observing the locals exchange anything from woodwork and iron clothing to sheep, donkeys, oxen, horses, and camels before heading to a typical Uyghur restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, travel to the more modern covered bazaar, which is thought to be the largest in Central Asia.


Day 3 - Kashgar

Go sightseeing in Kashgar after a late breakfast, starting with the green-tiled Abak Hoja tomb and the modest Silk Route museum. Following lunch, travel to the old town, a world that is rapidly changing but still has remnants of the historic Silk Road. You will then finish the day with tea on the second floor balcony of one of the antique chaikhanas (tea houses) while watching the bustling street market below.


Day 4 - Kashgar - Tashkurgan

Set of the Southern Branch of the Old Silk Road, passing Karakul Lake and the magnificently high peak Muztagh Ata, the Ice Father, en route to Tashkurgan, as numerous traders have done before. This fascinating frontier town is renowned for its historic stronghold, which you will visit. The scenery along the way is also breathtaking. Stop at the Lake to take in the grandeur of the Muztagh Ata Mountains. Afterwards, head to Tashkurgan, the last Tajik Chinese settlement between China and Pakistan.


Day 5 - Tashkurgan - Hunza

Cross the border into Pakistan and go through passport control in Tashkurgan before driving through the beautiful Khunjerab Pass to Sost in Pakistan to finish the paperwork. After passing through immigration, make your way to Borith Lake, passing the magnificent Karakorum and Kunlun Mountain ranges along the way.


Day 6 - Hunza

Enjoy a relaxing morning admiring the beauty of Borith Lake and its surrounding scenic landscapes. You will also get a chance to hike to the Passu Glacier and take in the breathtaking Karakorum Mountains in the distance, stretching over India, China, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. You will also get fantastic views of Passu Village and the jagged mountains that line the Hunza River while hiking.


Day 7 - Hunza

Take a stroll through Gulmit, Hunza's old summer capital. The lush plateau is rich in crops such as maize, wheat, and potatoes, as well as apricots, peaches, apples, and walnuts. Next, explore the area and see some of the local residences before continuing your journey along the Karakoram Highway to Hunza. From the northern end of Lake Attabad, take a brief boat ride on the lake before proceeding to Hunza and the main town of Karimabad via the recently built tunnel. You will then spend the night overlooking the beautiful Hunza Valley.


Day 8 - Hunza

Begin the day with a wonderful stroll down into town where you will be able to explore Altit Fort and go for a walk along the water channels around town to absorb the local ambience and get a glimpse of the local people's lifestyles. In the afternoon, take some time and take a look around the bazaar.


Day 9 - Hunza

Continue your journey south via the Hunza Valley to Gilgit after breakfast. You will get the opportunity to visit the famed Gandharan Buddha and the Christian cemetery before exploring the bazaar. If there is a game of Polo going on, this is a fantastic area to watch it. Afterwards, make your way to your magnificent hotel accommodation, which is located a bit outside of town.


Day 10 - Karimabad

Pass by the stunning Nanga Parbat viewpoint and the historic Ganish village, which is known for its ancient architecture and local handicrafts, on your route to Karimabad, the capital of Hunza Valley. Travel down the gorgeous Hunza Valley to see the legendary ancient Silk Road, which was used by both traders and monks.


Day 11 - Karimabad - Chilas

See Baltit Fort in the morning, which is 700 years old but has been rebuilt and remodeled over the centuries. Admire the architectural style reflecting the Tibetan influence in Baltistan at the period. You will then start your journey toward Chilas, making a stop at the Rakaposhi Viewpoint to take in the breathtaking views of the Rakaposhi Mountain Range.


Day 12 - Chilas - Islamabad

Make your way back to Islamabad, stopping at various scenic viewpoints and local bazaars along the way. Reach Islamabad by early evening, transfer to your accommodation, then spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.


Day 13 - Islamabad

Check out from the hotel after breakfast, then make your way to Islamabad International Airport for your journey back home.
