Itinerary


Day 1 - Sambava

Arrive at Sambava Airport. Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up and enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 2 - Sambava - Marojejy National Park

Begin your journey in Marojejy National Park, which is home to a variety of rare plants and animals. You can see a variety of reptiles, amphibians, birds, including the distinctive Blue Coua and Helmet Vanga as you hike to Camp Mantella through the lower wet primary forests. Set up camp and eat lunch at Camp Mantella after you arrive, then tour the campgrounds and go to the famous Humbert Falls. Additionally, you'll go on a thrilling nighttime expedition in search of brown lemurs, greater dwarf lemurs, fork-marked lemurs, and if you're lucky, aye-ayes.

Day 3 - Marojejy National Park

Spend the day exploring the spectacular Marojejy National Park! Trek towards Camp Marojejy, which is 775 meters above sea level, and search for the Silky Prophithèque, one of Madagascar's most stunning lemurs. Take in the majestic wonders of nature as you enjoy the stunning view of the mountains covered in a dense forest and granite rocks. You will also get to spot unique Malagasy wildlife creatures such as lemurs and birds throughout the day. Afterwards, return to camp before taking a short hike to the well-known Humbert Falls. 

Day 4 - Marojejy National Park - Andapa

Get on the road and head to the Mantella Circuit, where you can see different species of birds, including the Blue Coua and Eurycère de Prévost, as well as a variety of lemur species. Afterwards, return to Mandena Village and drive back to Andapa.

Day 5 - Andapa

Visit Anjanaharibe-Sud Special Reserve, one of Madagascar’s hidden gems. Although the reserve is little known and rarely visited, its magnificent flora and unusual wildlife will surely astound you. The spectacular Anjanaharibe-Sud Special Reserve is one of the last remaining unbroken stands of mid- and high-elevation rainforest in Madagascar, hidden deep within the nation's rough and isolated mountains. Certainly, a place of exceptional beauty and solitude that provides a window into the prehistoric past.

Day 6 - Andapa - Sambava

Explore Andapa, known as the rice granary of Madagascar's northeast, and go cycling in the Andapa basin. Experience friendly local encounters while you pass by vast rice fields and small traditional villages. Then, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before traveling to Sambava in the afternoon.

Day 7 - Sambava - Vohemar  

Journey to Jean Michel's plantation, a lovely tropical orchard with several feet of cocoa. You will then take an hour-long stroll conducted by a local expert before paddling down the Bemarivo River by kayak in peace. Afterwards, get back on the road and head toward Vohemar in the late afternoon.

Day 8 - Vohemar

Take a side trip to Anjoaty Park while exploring Iharana, also known as Vohemar in Malagasy. You will see the stunning Andranotsara Lake (Green Lake), hear amazing stories about the mysterious lake, and learn about the Sakalava Anjoaty Tribe as you explore Madagascar's Northern SAVA region. Then, give yourself some time to stroll around the town, which is also deemed as one of the main vanilla commercial hubs in Madagascar.

Day 9 - Vohemar - Daraina

Drive off-road to Daraina Reserve early in the morning. The journey from Vohemar to the secluded beauty of Daraina is challenging yet rewarding. Head straight into the forest in quest of the distinct Golden-Crowned Lemur, the elusive Aye-Aye, and other rare Malagasy wildlife creatures. 

Day 10 - Daraina - Vohemar

Depart from Dairana to Vohemar Airport for your journey back home.
