Itinerary


Day 1 - Sambava

Arrive at Sambava Airport. Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up and enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 2 - Sambava - Antalaha

Cruise on the Bemarivo River to see the amazingly stunning natural panoramas up close, then drive up to the town of Nosiarina, which is situated on the banks of the river, and begin navigating the river's clean waters between two wings of dense woodland. Along the route, you will have an opportunity to see how the locals live. Afterwards, drive across to the coast as you get close to the Soavoanio Coconut Plantation, one of the largest plantations in the world, and then take a traditional pirogue to go to the town of Sambava. Continue driving along a stunning, sweeping road to Antalaha. You will also get to visit the residential town of Antalaha, where you may wander around the beautifully maintained former administrative center of the colonial period.

Day 3 - Antalaha - Andapa 

Immerse yourself into the spectacular vistas as you journey through the deep, winding path to Andapa. One of the major rice-growing districts in Madagascar, explore some of the mesmerizing sites among bamboo forests, mountain valleys, and agricultural lands that are scented with exotic scents. Pay close attention to the Antanetiambo Reserve, where you may observe flamingos in the late afternoon, and the biological plantation Beradaka, which is hidden among mountains and fed by rivers.

Day 4 - Andapa - Manantenina

Start the day with a hike to Camp Mantella, traveling through the lower, wetter primary woods. Along the route, you'll have the chance to spot a variety of species, including the distinctive Blue Coua and Helmet Vanga. Set up camp and eat lunch when you get to Camp Mantella, then explore the campgrounds and go to the famous Humbert Falls. A thrilling nighttime excursion will also be had in quest of brown lemurs, greater dwarf lemurs, fork-marked lemurs, and if you're lucky, aye-ayes.

Day 5 - Marojejy National Park

Hike towards Camp Simpona as you continue your journey through Marojejy National Park, taking in the diverse and notably rich array of flora and animals. Many of Madagascar's most famous furry residents live in the reserve, including the elusive Silky Sifaka (Simpona). After that, stop for lunch at Camp Marojejy before traveling to Camp Simpona, where you will spend the night.

Day 6 - Marojejy National Park

Trek your way to Mount Marojejy's summit, which rises to a height of 2132 meters. Enjoy the mesmerizing view of the North of the Island and the Indian Ocean before making your way down to the camp for lunch. After a quick rest and lunch, proceed to Camp Marojejy. Dinner and sleeping arrangements at Camp Marojejy.

Day 7 - Marojejy National Park - Sambava

Set out from the campsite early in the morning and begin your hike back to the park's entrance through the primary forest. Before going to Sambava, you'll have a picnic lunch. Upon arrival, proceed to the hotel to check in. You can then spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 8 - Sambava

Transfer to Sambava Airport for your journey back home.
