Itinerary


Day 1 - Maroantsetra - Masindrano

Arrive in Maroantsetra. Upon arrival in Maroantsetra, meet and greet your guide at the designated pick up location before making your way through a private tropical park called Farankaraina. Walk through the rest of the afternoon, passing by several plantations of Vanilla, Cloves, Peppers, and Coffee, until you reach Masindrano, where you spend the night.


Day 2 - Masindrano - Ambolosy

Continue with a trek to Ambolosy, stopping by Nosy Mangabe National Park, which is a part of the larger Masoala National Park complex located at Antogil Bay. A notable island reserve known as a refuge for several species of lemur and other wildlife creatures, get a chance to spot the Black and White ruffed Lemur, White faced Brown Lemur, Aye-Aye, Snakes, Tree-boas, Ground Boas, and Leaf-tailed Geckos while you explore the tropical rainforest.


Day 3 - Ambolosy - Ambanizana

Begin the day with a hike to Ambanizana, where you will start your trekking expedition through one of the biggest rainforests of Madagascar. Take in the serenity of the forest, enjoy a river crossing experience, and even get to see the rare, elusive wildlife creatures en route to Ambanizana, where you will stay for the night.


Day 4 - Ambanizana - Ambodiforaha

Take a guided stroll through the lush forest and search for Madagascar’s most cherished wildlife creatures, such as lemurs, birds, and frogs. Continue with a walk along the coast to the village of Ambodiforaha, where you will spend the night.


Day 5 - Ambodiforaha

Start the day with breakfast while admiring the beautiful scenery. As one of Madagascar's top destinations for hiking and trekking, the Masoala Peninsula also provides fantastic prospects for some water activities, such as snorkeling and swimming. Take a trip along the coast to the nearest village in the afternoon to meet the local residents and learn more about their way of life. Then, enjoy a guided tour of Ambodiforaha village for a glimpse into local rural life followed by a traditional song and dance performance by the ladies of the village.


Day 6 - Ambodiforaha - Antalaviana

After breakfast, continue your hike through Antalaviana, where you will experience crossing rivers, trekking through a lush coastal forest, and taking in the impressive scenic views of Antongil and Bay. You will get a chance to see some of the rare and elusive species of lemurs, birds, chameleons, and frogs up close.


Day 7 - Antalaviana - Ratranavo

After breakfast, depart from Antalaviana and begin your walk to Ratranavo. Conquer the wonders of nature as you cross the river and get the chance to see lemurs, snakes, chameleons, and rice fields along the route. The night will be spent at a campsite close to a fishing village.


Day 8 - Ratranavo - Masoala

Make your way through Masoala National Park’s secondary rainforest in search of lemurs, chameleons, birds, and other wildlife endemic to the forest. You will be in awe of the forest's enormous trees and magnificent tree ferns. Afterwards, head to a marine park for some exciting adventures, such as snorkeling on the adjacent, incredibly diversified coral reefs or and even paddling out at sunset for a beautiful view and the potential to see green turtles up close. 


Day 9 - Masoala - Vinanivao - Antalaha

Conclude your Malagasy adventure with another trek through Masoala National Park’s secondary rainforest, passing through Coconut and Vanilla plantations. You will also catch a glimpse of the spectacular Indian Ocean en route to Antalaha.
