DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN PUERTO CARRENO

The flight from Bogota to Puerto Carreno is not included. Our team will meet you at German Olano airport and transfer you to your hotel in Puerto Carreno followed by a boat trip to Tuparro park. Beginning in Puerto Carreno we will float down the famous Orinoco River to the quaint village of Cazuartio. Our journey will continue to the start of the Meseta canyon and a roughly 1-hr walk to the El Tablon Harbour aka “the plank.”
Here you will have a glance at the Garcitas community and enjoy a deserving lunch. In the afternoon we continue with our boat excursion to the stunning El Tuparro National Park. Finally, we will set up at the campsite with a short jaunt through the Maipures rapids before we call it a night.

DAY 2: Tuparro National Park - Attalea Trail - Caño Lapa

Your day will commence at 7:00 am on the Attalea Trail where we will bring you to a viewpoint in hopes to see one of the most magnificent panoramic views of the Maipures rapids. We then make our way back to the Maipures visitors Center to get some first-hand knowledge about its facilities and then make our way along the Tuparro river stopping to meet the Sikuani indigenous tribe at the Raudalito Cano Lapa community. Here you will be able to witness the creative process of traditional dishes derived from the yucca plant and discover the “churatas” indigenous dwellings, created from wood and palms. The day will finish up with a swim in the crystal blue waters of the Lapa Canyon waterfall.

DAY 3: Tomo River

We call this the aquatic day where you will have unlimited time splashing in the swim holes and snorkeling in the dazzling blue waters on our journey down the Tomo River. We follow this up with a hike on the Anaconda Trail where depending on the time we could climb up Thomas Hill or Peinillas Hill to uncover a more remarkable view of the savannah and river below.

DAY 4: Tuparro National Park - Puerto Carreño

This will be our earliest day starting at 5:30 am in order to climb Guahino hill allowing you to observe some of the most impressive panoramic views of El Tuparro Park and the surrounding Maipures rapids.
We will then begin breakfast and carry on with our day's trek down the Orinoco River, towards Puerto Carreno, flowing through the Atures torrents. Returning to the Meseta canyon for a much-needed swim, check out a few petroglyphs and continue to Cazuarito. We will then make our way back to the hotel.

DAY 5: Bojonawi Reserve

We hope to start our morning with the unique sighting of pink dolphins near the crossway of the Meta and Orinoco rivers where we will continue to journey along the Bita river. Our next stop is at the Bojonawi Natural Reserve for a nature hike then return to Puerto Carreno. Later in the afternoon, you will have a hotel transfer to the airport before your flight back to Bogota.
