Custom Cameroon Tour - Charles and Eric

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Yaounde - your guide will meet you at the airport and from here you will depart to your hotel for the night. 3 star hotel. 

Day 2: Yaoundé- Mefou sanctuary- Doume – Bertoua

This morning,  visit gorillas, chimpanzees and several species of monkeys at Mefou sanctuary. Lunch at hotel, then drive to Bertoua, the head quarter of East Region, with stop at Doume town to see some relics of the German colonization in Cameroon. Dinner and overnight in Mansa hotel of Bertoua(3 stars).

Day 3: Bertoua- Yokadouma- Mambélé

Drive to Mambélé, the headqobéké natiouarters of Lnal park, with visit on the way of the cities of  Batouri and Yokadouma. Dinner and overnight in the guest house of Lobéké park.

Day 4- 7: Lobéké national park

Early morning drive from park headquarter to car dropp off point(25 miles), then hike about 17  miles to the “Dangaye” bai.

(During these days, you will experience fascinating forest walks to the beat of the thick forest lands, landscape and unpredictable movements of animals. Your days will be rich in our discoveries and activities, a life of experience, full of drama and emotion). Camping and overnight in tents.

Day 8: Dangaye- Mambélé

Early morning departure from Dangaye, hike 17 miles to the car dropp off point and drive to Mambélé. Installation in the guest house, and organization of a pygmy dance in the evening, with sharing of gifts to the local people. Overnight.

Day 9: Mambéle – Yokadouma- Bertoua

After breakfast, drive to Bertoua. Dinner and overnight in Mansa hotel.

Day 10: Bertoua- Yaoundé

Morning relaxation in Bertoua, then drive to Yaoundé.  Visit the ECOPARK touristic center in afternoon, before transfer to the airport in the evening. End of tour

Day 1: Evening free relaxation in Yaoundé. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Aurelia Palace (3 stars). 

Day 2: Yaoundé- Monatele- Batoufam

Depart Yaounde this morning en route to the West Region. Today visit the city of Monatele, and enjoy the beaches of the Sanaga River. Continue driving to Batoufam, and visit the Chief's Palace with its living museum. Meet and chat with the king of Batoufam who can give much information on the way of life of our ancestors. Relax in the gardens of the Palace, enjoy exchanges with the
locals, and overnight in the Palace guest house. 

Day 3: Batoufam- Foumban- Mbouda

After breakfast, drive to Foumbot, and visit the market of vegetables. From here we will continue to Foumban to discover the rich and exceptional culture of the Bamoun people.  The Bamoun kingdom was founded in 1392 and is the land of origin of most of the Grassfield kingdoms. The museum of the sultanate gives much information about the religions, the wars, the culture, and traditions in those days. Drive from Foumban, and visit the Metche waterfalls. Drive to Bamendjinda and visit the museum of slavery. Overnight in Mangwa
Hotel (3 stars). 

Day 4: Mbouda-Dschang

Trekking on the Bamboutos Mountain in the morning, then drive to Dschang, and visit the museum of civilization. Dinner and overnight in Malte Hotel (2 stars).

 Day 5: Dschang- Limbe

Visit the market of Dschang then drive via the cliff of Santchou to Melong. Continue to the southwest region stopping along the way to explore the agricultural area of Mungo. Upon arrival enjoy the coast in Limbe and overnight in Atlantic Beach
hotel(3 stars). 

Day 6: Limbe-Bimbia- Douala

Excursion to Bimbia, the site of an old slave trading port where you can learn about the colonial times, where slaves were assembled for exportation to Europe and America during the slave trading period.

There are still some relics of the slavery trade including the Old German Wharf where ships anchored for the embarkation of slaves, chains used on slaves and abandoned Ship,  the Alfred Saker Camp (where Alfred Saker first landed in Cameroon, (A monument has been constructed to commemorate his arrival), the British Canon (an instrument used to abolish slave trade); the foundation of the first printing press built by Joseph Merrick (English missionary), Nichol Island (the site that harbored slaves prior to their
journey to the new world) etc. Return to Limbe, and drive to Douala. Visit the economic capital of Cameroon, free relaxation in the evening, and overnight in Lewat Hotel(2 stars).

Day 7: Douala- Dizangue- Kribi

Drive to Dizangue in the morning; tour by canoe in the largest lake of Cameroon(lake Ossa). Visit a chimps reserve by canoe, then board the vehicle to Kribi. Enjoy Kribi, and overnight in Hotel Jully(2 stars).

Day 8: Kribi

Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and leisure at the beach in the morning. Visit a pygmy village in the forest and visit the Lobe waterfall, the only place in the world where a river flows directly to an ocean by cascades. Explore around the waterfalls, then return to hotel. Overnight in Kribi.

Day 9: Kribi- Yaoundé- return flight

This morning depart for Yaoundé. Upon arrival transfer to the airport for your return flight.
