Mogadishu City and Shore Core: Day Tour of Mogadishu, Somalia Attractions & Highlights

Day Excursion around the best of Mogadishu including security, vehicles, and crew, and first-class licensed guides with a spotless security record. 

Security is mandatory for most foreigners on these tours, and we visit the most interesting and scenic and intriguing spots of the capital on this tour. 

You must be at a secure pickup location or hotel or host in order to conduct this trip. We will not pick up from unqualified or insecure locations.

We start around the port and lighthouse area, the castle fort "rook" where everybody takes a photo in front of in Mogadishu, just to get that over with. We also head out and around the Lido and Jazeera Beach to sweep by the local shoreline scene and touch on the old maritime silk road, Afro-Swahili Arab Slave trade and Zanzibari black slave and perfumery and fragrance trade sites, Italian colonial fading (really fading, almost gone) architecture, and the mosques and markets (including the swelling and sprawling Bakara market, Somalia's biggest) and friendly religious centers and mosques. 

We can interact with local people and community, merchants and sherpherds, families and financiers along the trip and have the tour narrated for context and background by passionate guides. We visit the fish and animal market, and if of interest, a few historic tombs and monuments. 

We'll see a few backstreets and abandoned buildings and former shells of Mogadishu's development, some of the immediate rural and pastoral area to give a sense of the desert and bush life, and some of the newest modern investments and promising future public works and private industry projects that are taking the country into its future.
