Get a deeper understanding of the history, culture, customs, and traditions of northern Nigeria on this 5-day tour of Kano and Bauchi States. In Kano, appreciate traditional architecture and the local culture as you visit city landmarks and try activities with the locals. In Bauchi, immerse yourself in nature as you explore Yankari National Park and Sumu Wildlife Park, two of the most revered wildlife parks in Nigeria.

Day 1: Kano 

Today, learn about the art of tye and dye at the Kofar Mata dye pits then get a taste of the local life as you try some mouthwatering delicacies with the locals at Kurmi Market, the oldest in the state. Then, learn more about the long and distinguished history of Kano at the 15th century Gidan Makama Museum before ending the day at your hotel. 

Day 2: Kano

Visit Kano Central Mosque early in the morning and revel in the beauty of this majestic religious structure that draws thousands of worshippers weekly. Then, enjoy a walk around Ancient Kano City Walls, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed Site which is an ancient defensive wall built to protect the inhabitants of the city in the mid 14th century. Continue on a cultural visit to Emir's Palace, a striking example of Kano's traditional Hausa architecture before ending the day at Ado Bayero Recreational Center where you can enjoy some outdoor games.

Day 3: Kano - Bauchi 

Hop on your tour vehicle and travel south to Bauchi State. Arrive at Yankari National Park, a large wildlife park where you'll find different species of birds, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, hippos and plenty of baboons. In the evening, enjoy a sumptuous dinner by Wikki Spring and end the day at the National Park Lodge.

Day 4: Bauchi 

Visit a bird sanctuary and the Marshall Caves, a number of ancient dwelling caves that has rock paintings and engravings - a sign of early human settlements. Continue to Sumu Wildlife Park for a leisure safari and game viewing of animals like giraffes, zebras, antelopes, blue wild beasts, and more. Enjoy dinner by the bonfire before ending the evening at your lodge.

Day 5: Bauchi

Today is a slow and easy day where you'll experience fishing at Gubi Lake. Tour ends with a transfer back to Kano.
