Seen as the original capital of Nigeria, Calabar has become an exciting and adventurous place to visit while in Nigeria! Situated far south near the country’s neighbour, Cameroon, Calabar is a port city that is situated on a hill overlooking the Calabar River! The bustling centre is known historically as one of the oldest trading hubs in the country. Rich in culture, history, and architecture, the capital of the Cross River State is surely one you won’t forget! 

Itinerary:


This morning your guide will pick you up around 9 am. From your hotel this morning you will be transferred in a private and air conditioned vehicle with your guide to different areas of the city to experience the history of the city as well as get a feel for current events and life today. 


Throughout the tour today you will experience Henshaw Town, Duke Town Church ( one of the oldest churches in Nigeria!) and the waterfront area. We will make our way to the National Museum and Slave Trade Museum. After a few hours of exploring we will stop for lunch and have a chance to enjoy some local cuisine before continuing on with our Calabar journey! This afternoon we will spend some time wandering through a local market. Not only is this a great place to gather some souvenirs but also give you a chance to meet some wonderful locals.

This afternoon you will be dropped back to your hotel.
