2-Day Tour to Peshawar and Taxila

Can be done on a weekend or any other time

Day 1:
It is around 2-3 hours drive on motor way from Islamabad to Takht-I-Bahi, small town famous for its nearby Gandhara Buddhist monastery. After continue to Peshawar, the capital of the former North West Frontier Province (NWFP), now it is called Khyber Pakhtukhwa. For sightseeing in Peshawar are Museum, Mohbat Khan Mosque and old Bazaars. The Bazaars of the Old City area kaleidoscope of colors, sounds and smell, crowds of people jostle with cars, bicycles, donkey carts and Rickshaws and narrow alleys lead off from the main streets. Some of famous Bazaars are Khyber Bazaar, Namak Mandi, Qissa Khwani Bazaar etc. Overnight at hotel in Peshawar

Day 2:
In the morning visit to Peshawar Museum then drive to Rawalpindi – Islamabad that is 3-4 hours drive but e-route visit to Taxila around 35 km to the northwest of Rawalpindi, is one of the sub-continent’s most important archaeological treasures, with the remains of three great cities and dozens of Buddhist monasteries dating from 600 BC to AD 600. After that we will visit city of Rawalpindi which is next to Islamabad. Return back to the hotel in the late afternoon or early
