16-Day Tour Adventure Tour to the North

This program is combination of light adventure (one day hikes or trek will be around 3-5 hours and meet with the locals) and visiting the various villages of Northern Areas of Pakistan, local traditional houses, historical forts. You will travel on Karakorum Highway or via Naran and Babu Sar Pass to Hunza Valley, through Besham, Khoistan, Chilas and Gilgit or Khakhan and Naran and Babu Sar Pass and enjoy the various beautiful sceneries. Then from Gilgit after Hunza you will travel to Skardu Baltistan, Skardu. It is in the heart of frontier land, center of commerce, transportation and gateway one of the world most spectacular landscape. The journey to Skardu by road along the narrow gorge of the Indus River is unforgettable. Skardu is gateway to the trekking in Baltistan that is starting point of the arrangement of various treks.

ITINERARY:

Day-01: Arrival Islamabad airport, meet with our staff transfer to the hotel in the rest of time sightseeing of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, overnight at hotel. 

Serving as the capital of Pakistan since the Sixties, Islamabad was built according to a carefully organized plan, divided into sectors along a grid of clean, tree-lined streets. The city is sheltered by the Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas and the home of rare species of leopard, deer, birds, and even porcupines. Several hiking paths end at Daman-e-Koh, a picnic spot with a splendid view of the entire city, including the massive modernist Faisal Mosque and even the Rawal Dam.

Islamabad is the ninth largest city in Pakistan with a population of about 1.015 million (2017)

Visit to Shah Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Kok for panoramic view of Islamabad, National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage. You may visit to Rawalpindi, old Bazaar called Raja Bazaar.

Day-02: Drive to Chilas on Karakorum Highway (KKH) 11 -12 hrs and via Naran and Babu Sar Pass (9-10 hrs). Overnight at Hotel in Chilas.

Day-03: Continue via Gilgit to Karimabad - Hunza 2-3 hrs, we can stop on the way at various view points, Nanga Parbat View point, where three might mountain ranges meet, Rakaposhi view point and many more for view and photography. In Karimabad in coming days you will explore the Hunza Valley, see the daily life of local people. Visit to Baltit Fort, former palace of Rulers of Hunza until 1960. And also visit 900 years old Altit Fort that was built by the people of Baltistan.

Overnight at hotel.

Day-04: Drive to Hopar, across the Karimabad in Nagar Valley 1-2 hrs drive then trek on the glacier 3-4 hrs to (cross and back) then drive back to Karimabad to visit Baltit Fort and evening Channel walk in Karimabad, overnight at hotel.

Day-05: Walk to Altit Fort from Karimabad then walk to Duikar 3000M, highest point of the valley, gives majestic view of Bothe central Hunza, Nagar and central Karakorum, there is view point that gives 360 degree angle view of the Hunza-Nagar Valley. After Duikar there is walk to Shahabad to view point then walk to Lower Shahabad and finally to Chakkarain to Duikar. Overnight at hotel in Duikar

Day-06: In the morning drive to Gulmit, en-route visit to Hunza secret rock (rock carving) and ruby mine at Doyndas then continue to Hunza Lake also called Attabad Lake then to Gulmit visit local museum, carpet house then to drive Borith Lake, walk to the view point and trek 3-4 hrs on ward to Passughar and back to Borith Lake, overnight at hotel

Day-07: In the morning walk up to the view point 30 minutes then trek down to the Passu and visit of the village, visit some traditional wakhi houses, after lunch walk to famous suspension bridge, can cross to Khuramabad and back to Passu, overnight at hotel in Passu

Day-08: Drive to Shimshal Valley from Passu by jeep 3 hrs drive and afternoon trek up to Shimshal White Horn Base Camp and back to the local guest house for overnight

Day-09: Full day trek (4-5 hours) on Malngluti Glacier with packed lunch and option to walk around the villages in the Valley, overnight in local guest house

Day-10: Continue to Karimabad (4-5 hours’ drive), then continue to Gilgit 2-3 hours, overnight in Gilgit

Day-11: Drive from Gilgit to Skardu 7-8 hrs drive. Skardu is the getaway to the highest mountains and entire region is known as a mountaineering and trekker’s paradise. Overnight at hotel in Skardu

Day-12: Walk to Fort and also trek to Organic Village and evening excursion to Shigar and back to Skardu for overnight at hotel

Day-13: Drive to Satpara Lake and walk down to the town and evening drive to Kachura Lake and walk in the sand dunes, overnight at hotel in Skardu

Day-14: Fly to Islamabad, 1 hrs flight OR drive to Chilas 7-8 hours, overnight at hotel

Day-15: Continue to Islamabad 10-12 hrs, via KKH or Naran, overnight at hotel

Day-16: Departure from Islamabad (drop off at the airport)
