Mahe Island Shore Excursion with Takamaka Rum Tasting

The most developed and largest of the Seychelles archipelago, Mahé is home to Victoria, the country's capital, and the gateway to paradise. More than a financial and political hub, Mahé is also guaranteed to quench your tropical holiday thirst. Dominated by colossal granite peaks, the landscape of the interior drops down to a coastline interrupted by stunning bays and sandy coves.

Start the day with a pickup from Victoria Port by an air-conditioned vehicle. Led by your guide, stroll down the market street where you'll find fresh local produce such as fruits, vegetables, and fish. You'll also get to test locally grown red coconut and ripe mango fruits.

Drive around town and admire various landmarks, each telling their own unique story. Continue to the Sans Soucis mountain pass and stop at the historical Mission Lodge, one of the best vantage points in all of Seychelles. From the lodge, you'll be able to see spectacular views of central Mahé and the west coast, and some low-slung stone ruins.

Proceed to Port Launay Beach where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in its warm azure waters, go snorkeling or just laze on its white sandy beach. You will then drive along some of the most glorious beaches caressed by gorgeously multi-hued waters before souvenir-hunting at a craft village.

Before the tour ends, you will also visit Takamaka Rum Distillery, a must when in Seychelles. Here, you'll learn about and enjoy some shots of this locally-produced beverage.

Tour ends with a drop-off at the port.
