Hiroshima Setouchi Islands Full Day Kayak Tour with Lunch

From USD $184.00
  • Duration: 1 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Fukuyama, Hiroshima
  • Product code: PZAQVA

Pristine beaches, iridescent blue waters, and port towns that combine nature and history—these await and more at Hiroshima's breathtaking Setouchi Islands.

With your friendly guide, depart from Tomonoura aboard your top-class kayak. A calm and laid-back town at the southern end of Fukuyama, Tomonoura features an endearing old-fashioned fishing townscape you can best appreciate from the waters. It is no wonder the town has been picked as a filming location for several Hollywood and local movies, such as Hugh Jackman's The Wolverine and Ponyo on the Cliff by the popular Studio Ghibli.

Paddle to the nearby Benten Island, a stunning piece of paradise where you can see a historic torii gate towering above its coast. Then, explore the area around Abuto Kannon, a lacquer-coated temple that blends in magnificently with the clear waters and rocks of the Seto Inland Sea. If the weather permits, you can even explore the temple, a famous site for safe childbirth prayers, by foot.

During the tour, make a stop at one of the secluded islands and enjoy a scrumptious Japanese-style lunch. You will also pass by Utsumi Ohashi, the bridge that connects the island of Tashima to the rest of mainland Fukuyama before heading back to Tomonoura to conclude the tour.
